"Chef Laurent Manrique’s convincingly Parisian downtown brasserie opened in 2005 and has been whisking diners to France ever since on the wings of its cheese, duck confit, and extensive wine collection. Beautiful day deserves a beautiful salad 🥗

some of the very best food I've ever had. It was well prepared. Fresh, flavorfull, just right, the bread and butter were to die for, and the price was very fair! I would definitely go back! It was a great place to stumble upon! I had an excellent experience!

Wonderful atmosphere and staff. Great coffee. Brilliant knowledge of the menu items. Good variety of whiskies

We had dessert and a drink just before closing. Although they did not welcome people or calls, they did not rush us to leave. They are French after all, linger....

It was delicious

It was a welcome surprise that we just walked into at lunch on the last day of our trip. Great food and service and atmosphere.

In town for a conference a few blocks away. Not only is the food AMAZING, but beautifully presented and the staff is attentive and friendly. I only visited San Francisco for 4 days, but I had to eat here twice!

I loved my leisurely lunch on the sidewalk at Café de la Presse. The champagne, Croque Monsieur and salad followed by a latte were perfect. I appreciate how Horacio thoughtfully and respectfully checked on me and the diners at the tables around me throughout our meals. What a wonderful and unexpected French treat in the midst of last minute Christmas shopping in San Francisco!

I fell upon this brasserie in the centre of San Francisco, buzzing with lots of locals and with a French charm mixed with city life . The menu was good , plenty of choice and good prices with friendly waiters on hand. A good choice for brunch or lunch!

Have been for lunch , first time for dinner. Ordered duck confit, liked the crispy skin, ordered foie gras and salmon flatbread , nice portions not over the top priced 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

David & Andrea have been treating us as VIPs for years. They love our Yorkies and welcome us graciously each and every time we return. Their service is perfection & the champagne is always chilled and ready.

Bottom line... the restaurant is wonderful. I started my lunch with a well made Bloody Mary, followed by a hamburger and fries. The burger was exactly as I ordered it, medium rare with mushrooms and cheese. Succulent, flavorful, served on an excellent bun. My son ordered something more elegant, after all it is a French restaurant, and his selection was superb.

The service was efficient, thoughtful, and thoroughly professional.

I will return.

Arguably the best brunch I can remember. The only quibble I have was that the Bloody Mary's were a bit pricey ($13.50 before tax)for something that isn't really that unique.

Absolutely amazing spot. The service is amazing, and the meals are top notch. The burgers are excellent for lunch, and the French Toast with warm blueberries is the best you’ll find. I make it a point to have at least one meal there whenever I visit the city.

Such kind and accomodating staff at this restaurant! Large group of 'drop in' women (22 in all).... and they rearranged tables, chairs, and our food was cooked to perfection in a very reasonable amount of time! Good JOB!!

Coffee was so good, eggs Benedict was okay and my son’s burger was good too. Service could have been better. There were a lot of empty tables but it took a long time to get cleaned.

The coffee and food are great, but the service was poor. When I arrived at the restaurant, the hostess was so busy chatting with the cashier, and has her back facing the door. Just couldn’t be bothered. The restaurant manager greeted and seated me with a long sour black face. Basically handed me the menu while I walked to my table. The waiters and waitresses don’t smile and they served you as if you owed them a living. No offer of water or bread when you sat down. No offer of coffee refill unless you asked for it. Good food but bad service.

There were cockroaches in the restroom. We had dinner at the brasserie last night with the kids. I told the kids they shouldn't use the restroom there. I was afraid the kids would be too grossed out if I told them the truth. Outrageous. Now I will always wonder if there are cockroaches in their kitchen as well.

Terrible food even worse service!!!!! A lot of staff employed there but no one to serve... chef in the kitchen should be fired! Even wine was dodgy... not even one star worth it . Absolutely terrible!!!!

Anonymous

I'm not sure why anyone likes this restaurant, it reminded me of cheap diner food you find at a truckstop in the middle of no where but at a premium price. They don't even have real maple syrup! The waiter was very nice but other than that, I wouldn't recommend it. I didn't eat my breakfast because it wasn't good, left hungry and ate a breakfast sandwich at starbucks that is microwaved and tasted better!

I have been coming here for 12 years and tonight was the last night. We came in for dessert and coffee and they looked at us like we were lepers. They never even served us water. Other guests that sat down after us left because they would not serve them. Sorry we don't have man buns. Time to find better coffee somewhere else. Oh yeah, 45 minutes to get a check. We should have just left.
