Been to Pannikin many times always satisfied, not this time. Arrived 540. Two employees already furiously sweeping, excuse me, intrusively sweeping. I could not move enough times to get out of the way of the young lady wielding her broom. Young lady taking the orders was equally rude. Asked about the chocolate capuchino; does it have powder, syrup, powder on top? "It's a cappuccino with chocolate," with attitude. Okay I say, a regular cappuccino then, thank you." My wife goes to pay, she swipes the card, walks away. No receipt? No nothing? "That's all" she snaps from across the counter and continues doing whatever she should be doing AFTER you lock your doors. We finally get outside, I sit down and take a sip of my cappuccino, it was a chocolate cappuccino. Great I said, went back to ask for a regular one, open the door "we're closed" I was told and the door was ever so politely shut in my face. Big time fail on customer service this visit. I'll be back, I'll just hope you two aren't working this time. Ps, the brownie tasted like it was a week old. Really? On a Saturday? Disappointing.

This place roast their organic coffee beans and has a huge variety to buy. My new go to place for excellent, quality coffee. Also tons of home baked pastrys and pies. Only negative is distance from home but the drive on 101 is always fun and makes me feel like I am on staycation. Take time to enjoy the views of the ocean, great boutiques and restaurants on this historic drive.

They make a really good and fluffy latte. The black bean soup has a nice kick to it and the Greek Eggs are absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is super cute; the place is made from an old 1880s train station and is decked out with at from the locals.

Very nice environment, old style coffee house with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Smells delicious. Chai latte is great, coffee is just OK.

Love this little place. Busy so don't be in a hurry. Perfect stop when you're biking/cycling the coast. Recommend.

Love it! Family and I make sure to go each time we visit the area! First time going I was 3 years old. Now I'm 24 and it's still always going to be one of my favorite places to eat for breakfast

My wife & I finally decided to give the Pannikin mothership a go. Went on a Saturday after our morning run, arrived about 7:30-8:00 and was pleasantly surprised to see a smaller than normal crowd. There is limited parking behind the building, along side streets, or across the street (the 101). I ordered a double mocha and it was excellent! My wife got a cappuccino and said it was very good. The baked goods looked amazing - amazingly huge - so I only got a cranberry granola bar which was also excellent.

Great coffee and pastries! I ordered an iced vanilla latte and a chocolate cake. The vanilla latte was not too sweet and had enough coffee. The chocolate cake was also not overly sweet unlike most other places. The chocolate was very rich and the texture was very soft and creamy. I highly recommend it.

Their front yard is the best. Second best is the coffee cake. Third is everything else. Love this spot and would return over and over again with kids, dogs, friends and family.

My favorite Coffee Shop in Encinitas. This is the old train station which has been very artfully transformed into an upscale fun Coffee Shop, store and also a small Art Gallery downstairs...

You can order your coffee and bakery goods and then sit inside this pleasant environment or you can do the patio which overlooks Coast Hwy. Still another option is to sit below the patio on the lawn chairs provided.

A lot of good choices. Good Internet and friendly staff make this place exceptional.

Lovely and cheery place to relax while drinking tea or coffee while eating a light meal. Spacious. Lots of seating indoors and outdoors. Quick service. Lots of cool items to buy. Enchanting building. Unique layout. Good variety. Had vegan options too!
