Really, really good Clam chowder! The servings are quite large, so think carefully about whether a cup might be enough compared to A bowl. It’s hot and delicious. And it’s chock-full of clams and vegetables.

Friendly staff too!

Just ate at Pelly's. The food was fine but the service was not. There is a young man who works there now (I think he is more on the new side) and he has gotten my in house order wrong multiple times. Tonight was no exception. It is clear he does not pay attention, because whenever I have to order from him, I need to repeat details several times. Normally I would let this go but not tonight. I told the young lady who brought my meal that the order was wrong (wrong marinade and I was not in the mood for the one on it.) She apologized and took it back. All fine...except when I heard her arguing with the guy who took my order. I was in the dining room and it was most uncomfortable to listen to them argue about it for several minutes. I would have asked for the manager but I just wanted to eat and leave. This argument was SO UNPROFESSIONAL in front of customers and with me being in the next room. I eat at Pelly's or buy seafood from them frequently. The order was not complicated and since it has happened several times with the same guy taking my order, I am losing faith in Pelly's.

Looked for a local, fresh seafood restaurant and was rather disappointed in Pelly's. Firstly, they were out of steamers. And being from New England, I love clam chowder. Their's was much too peppery, though it had a good amount of clams. The red snapper with the house marinade was good but the portion of fish was small. My husband had scallops and they were barely cooked. Oh well. It's hit or miss when you're on vacation.

Best fish house in Carlsbad. My wife had the sea scalloped with salad and rice and I had the res snapper. We are never disappointment in the quality of their food the best at affordable prices.

Nice fish. A bit pricey but worth it. Nice people. Very casual restaurant . They tend overcook fish unless you tell him how you want it cooked. But if you tell them it will come out perfect.

I love this place! The price is reasonable and my Salmon
was delicious. It melted in my mouth and had great flavor. The clam chowder was amazing! The people were really nice also! We wasted a lot of time looking for a place that was affordable and no waiting time in San Diego. Decided to just come back to where we were staying in Carlsbad.
and go to Ralph's and found this amazing place!!

I love Pelly's, hands down freshest fish in Carlsbad. Super cozy atmosphere with lots of awesome pictures to look at. Facilities are clean and the staff are very friendly.

It was a very cozy experience, you order at the counter they bring you your fish. All plates come with salad and rice. The rice is blank.

Excellent seafood. Loved the fish tacos and the Seabass sandwich.

The white clam chowder was out of sight too.......

Great mom and pop fish shop. Can order fish to bring home or order lunch off their menu. I love their fish tacos!
