We saw this restaurant pop up on our FB as we were driving back to Houston from San Antonio. It was a great stop besides the usual Buckee's stop. The Robert burrito was fantastic! It had egg, cheese, potato, beans and bacon on a homemade flour tortilla. They also have either red or green salsa that are both equally good. The green salsa is just a little hotter but sooo good! The prices were also very good. We will definitely be stopping next time we're driving on Interstate 10.

This place is GREAT!!! Amazing homemade tortillas are the best EVER!!! We have been three times whenever we are in town and each time they breakfast taco's were amazing. The price is amazing too !!!! If you are in Gonzales YOU have to try this place. Its a hole in the wall but you will not regret it - the service is awesome too!!!

They've never gotten our orders wrong. Their tortillas are amazing as well as their tacos, chips and queso, chalupas, and enchiladas! Not to mention the lovely wait staff and their welcoming smiles :)

My girlfriend and her family always told me about there tradition about, how they always have to get a Robert special before they leave Gonzales. Well 2 weeks ago I finally got to sit down and try a fresh Robert special! Let me tell you, I have never been able to eat a egg taco without drowning in some type of sauce. But the Robert special was so good I didn't need it!

My beautiful home town Gonzales,I have lived in austin for 14 years and been around the world and believe me, there is no place that makes tacos like Matamoro"s taco hut!!!

Matamoros Taco Hut (aka Taco Butt) is the best breakfast in the USA period. If you want some bomb...i mean BOMB breakfast tacos then this is the place to go. Great service and the food is fresh! i mean FRESH...like the beans were totally just pulled and the potatoes dug up out the rich texas soil right down the street. if your looking for a great...i mean GREAT breakfast on a morning after one to many i mean ONE to many by the campfire the night before...or maybe after a super early hog, deer or fowl hunt that morning you need to park your truck, tie your horse, corral your wagon...i mean CORRAL your wagon right here in the heart, the tenderloin, the beginning...i mean the BEGINNING of Texas right here at the greatest of all greats Taco...i mean TACO BUTT!!!

I'm originally from Gonzales but live in Florida. Every time I'm in town, which isn't often, I always have to make my trip to Matamoros Taco Hut. Fajita and Carne Guisada tacos are a must for me and my family. I wish they'd deliver all the way over here. I miss their food so much. I could go for a Mexican plate right about now. Your food is so freaking awesome. BTW say hi to my godmother please Maria!!

I am originally from

Gonzales but live in Dallas . I was in town for a funeral .

The staff knows not the circumstances but it’s more than a good plate of food, it was fellowship with family .

Best Breakfast Tacos!! Matamoros has great homemade Mexican food. I go there for breakfast for the Robert's Taco (eggs, bacon, refried beans and potatoes on a homemade tortilla) every time I am in Gonzales. The staff is consistent and friendly. This is where the locals meet for coffee and breakfast.

If your looking for great TexMex with a mix of Mexican food this is the place to come. Both corn and flour tortillas are made in their kitchen fresh daily. Salsas are green and red. I preferred the green. Just amount of hot to enjoy meal. Highly recommended by El Mezquite from Alice, Texas.

Service tonight was horrible. We ordered 5 tacos. Got 3 then waited for another 15 minures to get 2 more that werent right. We werent the only ones whos order was messed. Also had to ask for chips and hot sauce. Wont be back for dinner cor a while.

We sat here for 20 minutes and asked for my order and the kid working forgot to turn in my order now we have to wait longer.....very slow service

Unless you have taken care of your roach problem I will not go back..The food is great..The best Mexican food in Gonzales but the sanitary issues must be addressed...
