Paleo Puffin Description
The Paleo Puffin has been a part of Sherwood Forest Faire since the very first season. It was started by two members of the band Circa Paleo (hence the “Paleo” in “Paleo Puffin”) and is still owned by Jay Elkins and Jenny O’Connor. The idea was to create a gypsy /elven /quirky hangout at the Elven Hill stage where our friends could sip a hot, tasty beverage, smoke a hookah, grab a beer from the nearby pub, bring over a pizza from Como’s or some nachos from the Golden Conquistador and enjoy a day’s worth of awesome musical entertainment. It worked. Nowhere else, to our knowledge, can you find such a place at a Renaissance Festival.

I recently visited Paleo Puffin during a quick stop in 1883 Old Highway 20, McDade, Texas 78650, and it left a lasting impression. The macchiato I had was a perfect balance of espresso and foamy goodness. The café's cozy ambiance and friendly baristas create a welcoming environment that's hard to beat. I'll be back for sure.

My visit to Paleo Puffin was underwhelming. The coffee at 1883 Old Highway 20, McDade, Texas 78650 was lukewarm, and the pastries were stale. I had heard good things about this place, but the reality fell short of my expectations. The coffee's temperature left much to be desired, and the accompanying pastries lacked freshness.
