Please NEVER ever change the dough recipe! I'm a native of Texas City originally so I always went to the Shipley's there before moving out here and of course, this location, always superb and EXACTLY what I expect a Shipley's donut to taste like.....

My mom brought some donuts from the TC location and they downright suck! Like I was eating a donut from a grocery store bakery. It was absolutely horrible! Shipley's donuts are known for that soft chewy dough flavor and the light glaze that crisps up just perfectly as you eat it.....the TC locations "Shipley" donut....not so.

My wife swears this Shipley's is different than all the others and I would have to agree. Her picture is on the wall. The doughnuts are the shizz and A.L. makes um real good.

My family and I will not have donuts from anywhere else. Al, the owner and his crew are the best. They ways support the local schools and community. Want old town feeling where you can come in and have a coffee and donut, this is the place. Can't say enough. Love the place, love the donuts, love the people that run it!!!!

My absolute favorite place! There is no where like it & I drive right past the shipleys on Nasa road 1 just to get to the other side of town. Not only does the inside feel homey, with all the newspaper articles and old pictures on the wall but the staff is so friendly and always remembers my order & my sons name in the drive thru/our whole big family who comes in at all different times because we've gone there our whole life's. My grandparents, parents, me and now my son. 4 generations at this great place.

All doughnut stores are not the same! Shipley's is absolutely the best recipe. AND all Shipley's are not the same! A.L. & Merry (FM 518 in League City under the oaks) have absolutely the BEST one! We are very lucky to live so close to them.
