This was my first time here, but I really enjoyed the menu options, re food was good to me and the atmosphere was quite nice.

The food is some of the best I have ever ate!' The shrimp and grits and fried chicken are favorites. The deserts are fabulous Small menue that they do great. What all restraints should do.

8-11-17 Was our first time ever visiting. I was gonna give 4 stars because service sucked but the food more than made up for it. I had the prime ribeye with asparagus and mashed potatoes. OMG!!!!! We ordered 2 appetizers, yum yum shrimp and lobster rolls. They were excellent as well. Summer our server needs more training due to not bringing one appetizer and messing up completely getting the desert order wrong. But like I say the food is awesome.

Previously I've had great experiences dining at Amsterdam Cafe. I've been eating there since I was in school at Auburn (over 20 years). However, today I was extremely disappointed. My husband, 5yo and I walked in to see many open tables. We were told the wait would be over an hour. The man behind me walked in and he asked if his party would have to wait that long. The hostess said "No, it's because they have a kid". The hostess just stared at me and we left. I'm glad Auburn has great restaurants to choose from as I will not be going back to Amsterdam Cafe.

Terrible experience!! I've always enjoyed visiting this restaurant but I will NOT be returning again. We made a reservation for lunch and took my 89 year old grandmother who was looking forward to the food/experience. They booked a high top for us which would not work for my grandmother. When we asked if we could sit in a booth (or anywhere besides a high top), they informed us they had no spots available. During our conversation I pointed out a booth that was empty, but they told us it was booked for a reservation an HOUR AWAY from when this conversation was taking place. Nobody seemed to understand how bad that sounds to a customer, and they didn't seem to care if we walked out the door or not! I understand scheduling reservations at a busy restaurant is tough, but the only option we were given by staff was "sorry, we cannot accommodate you". The manager/supervisor was not helpful at all and even made a smart comment to me as we were walking out the door insinuating the whole issue was our fault. Yes, we could have requested a booth when we made a reservation, but resolving the issue in a professional manner to accommodate the customer was not happening. No other options were given except to leave. Apparently they do not put their customers first! I am so disappointed Amsterdam!!

The food is amazing (I usually get the pork chop). The menu changes with what's fresh for the season and does not overwhelm with endless choices. The ambience is nice but unpretentious. Excellent beer selection from local breweries. I've always had impeccable service.

Amazing restaurant! I came for brunch with my family and every meal we had was delicious. Great atmosphere and friendly staff.

Really cool, and chill atmosphere. And the food is great for what I thought was a surprisingly reasonable price for somewhere that feels so fancy. Our waiter was very friendly and helped us to make a decision on what to try. Very satisfied with my burger and homemade chips.

Really cool atmosphere! The food was delicious (I got the crabcake sandwich and coming from VA beach, it had a lot to live up to) and the service was phenomenal. We will definitely be returning and would recommend to friends!
