“For those living in Mountain Brook, Church Street Coffee and Books is a no-brainer. Offering delicious pastries, their Break-Up Cookies are legendary. But this coffeeshop also doubles as a bookstore with new releases lining the walls and counters. The atmosphere inspires you to open a book and get lost reading. You can even order a book from them online.”

they make the best biscotti in town. I love having one or a break up cookie to munch on while reading
Wonderful experience! Amazing coffee! Would be nice to have more seating available.
What a great place! Definitely my go-to when visiting home during the holidays!
This is my new favorite place. Such a cozy, quiet spot to meet up with friends or be on your own!
The best coffee shop and bookstore, ever! Truly, these people, their coffee, their staff, their brilliance...no place I'd rather be every, single morning. That's all.
Stopped in this morning for the first time. Very good coffee and one of the best chocolate chip cookies I have ever had.
Stopped in a Saturday night for some coffee and dessert. Coffee was pretty good, but the Breakup Chocolate Chip cookie were freaking addictive! Very friendly staff and nice diverse selection of books to boot!
My wife and I stopped in while visiting. Very good Americano and maybe the best Chai we have ever had. Nice atmosphere. We would definitely spend time here if local to the area.
My favorite coffee shop in town! Such a wonderful, relaxing environment. Staff is always pleasant and friendly, even when busy. Food is amazing, especially the gluten free offerings - something I wish more coffee shops offered. Great drink options for kids too!
Oh, and if you feel there isn't enough seating when you arrive... there's a "secret" upstairs area as well with plenty of extra tables and chairs ;)
I went the other day for the first time despite working at a coffee shop 20 plus years ago right next door. It did not disappoint. Staff is awesome, cookies were amazing. Ate on them for three days. Would recommend!
I come in for the Break Up Cookies and always leave with the perfect book for any situation. Church Street knows my heart!
Heather brings cookies to our salon when she gets her hair cut. Every cookie she ever brings to us is completely different and the best cookie I have ever had. The chocolate is seriously the best cookie I have EVER been lucky enough to have. Typically, gluten free cookies are never high on my list; the gluten-free cookies are awesome even if you are not looking for gluten-free cookies....don't be scared! Check them out!
Great shop, great people!
They have good coffee and snacks as well as a great selection of books. Very nice atmosphere to sit and talk or sit and read. On a nice day the deck is very nice.
Great place to meet friends. The hospitality of the staff is great!
Great coffee, cookies and the barista is very knowledgeable and friendly!
Cute little coffee shop! It was busy, which a good thing. Staff was friendly and helpful for this first timer. No room to sit but took my hot tea and break up cookie to go. So good!
By far my favorite coffee shop and the best staff!
Best coffee in town and big supporters of the literary arts! Go buy a book, people!
After a cool, rainy Sunday hike we went to Church Street Coffee and Books for some warm coffee and to warm up. What a wonderful, cozy place with really good coffee, a wonderful collection of books and very knowledgeable, nice baristas. Loved this place.
