Wow! The latte was simply amazing! The food is super clean, made daily from scratch, healthy and very fresh. The curry mango chicken sandwich I had was very tasty. The bread was soft and fresh. The pastries are a must! Definitely going back again and for more! �

What a great little coffee shop right in the neighborhood! Coffee and pastries are delicious! Owners are so friendly and accommodating. I'll be sending all my peeps over from Relevé after barre class :)

There is a nice selection of sandwiches, pastries, and beverages. I had a delicious open-faced smoked salmon sandwich--ask for the mustard dill sauce! Also had a great cup of reasonably priced coffee and a very good apricot croissant. Very friendly place, easy parking.

The desserts were excellent and the service was even better. I had two cappuccinos in a row because they were exquisite! I'm glad I found this spot, I would highly recommend this place!

Oh, where do I start!! Every coffee shop I go to I judge by the friendliness of the staff and the quality of their coffee and this place takes the cake. The hospitality of the ladies who work their is off the charts and makes their already great coffee taste even better! You could tell how much they care about thier customers and the place, they don't wait for you to ask for a refill. Oh yeah, refills are free for brewed coffee! I definitely recommend the sea food soup and their cookies, they taste fantastic!

OMG! This new cafe is exactly what we need here in Birmingham! �� Great owners, great location and delicious food-- all with a Swedish twist! � Lia Jamerson and I just had their Swedish meatball salad: with fresh greens, baby spinach, succulent tomatoes, red cabbage, and pickled beets and the best dressing ever! We can't wait to stop in for coffee and their fresh homemade cinnamon rolls. I'm a fan!! �

Me and my friend Rick stopped by today after seeing the Swedish general counsel in Birmingham and it was a pure delight to sit down and eat an shrimp sandwich and delicious mix of Swedish food on a plate like a salad. Will definitely be back very soon again and again. Thank you as I’ve missed real food. And not to forget the amazing service we got. Outstanding and super friendly

Love this place--the coffee is exceptional and the food is traditional Swedish, very fresh and delicious. I highly recommend visiting this gem with its Scandinavian flair and wonderful staff.

Love this place!! They have my favorite sandwich (shrimp sandwich), love the cafe design, atmosphere, food, coffee and excellent service. Glad this place is so close to my house. It has become one of my favorite spots to go for a meal or snack.

I've been wanting to visit Svenska Cafe since it opened, but living on the other side of the state, it's been difficult. But I finally made it and it was awesome! Can't wait to come back!

I really love the Americanos here. Super flavorful at very reasonable price. For that reason alone I've become a regular.



However, earlier tonight I came in tonight to get my usual drink and the owner could tell I was having a rough day. After she finished my drink she just said something to the effect of "It's on me. I hope you feel better. " A small gesture to distract me from my troubles and remind me that I'm appreciated. It went a long way.

I fell in love with Sweden and Scandanavian culture on a trip to Sweden and Norway. I've been disappointed trying to find authentic Swedish coffee shops...until this place came along. I love sitting down with a coffee and a Swedish snack and feeling like I've been transported back to Sweden if only for 30 minutes. Tack Svenska Cafe!

First time there today with a few friends, I had a latte and Swedish cinnamon roll they were lovely! the staff are really friendly and welcoming will definitely be back!

Finally - a European cafe, with outstanding coffee, food, and desserts that doesn't try to draw its inspiration from Italy. Svenska is proudly Swedish - and has exceptionally-prepared Scandinavian menu items, including open-faced salmon, shrimp, and other sandwiches. Don't come looking for meatballs - but if they ever become a menu staple, this place will offer the best.

Cars and coffee doesn’t get better without a touch of a Swedish coffee shop with them damn good daim cakes oh my god so so so good ! Service is awesome and super friendly will be going back every time !

As a Swede living in Michigan I was very happy to learn about this authentic Swedish café! A truly “mysigt” spot in the middle of bustling downtown Birmingham, Svenska Café serves traditional Swedish sandwiches and pastries. Great staff and cozy environment, too!

An under-rated coffee shop in the Birmingham Area. Plenty of parking and baristas offer a friendly greeting when you walk in the door. Small vibe coffee shop with an amazing selection of coffee and specialty treats. Outdoor seating is nice addition. Will definitely be back.

Always love supporting local businesses. Svenska has a terrific feel to it. The coffee and food is made fresh every day (I've walked in while they were preparing their smoked salmon sandwich, which is delicious). You can tell they're developing their menu and refining their "taste" every day. They've only been open a month and I already have my go-to items. One note: be prepared for smaller servings of coffee. They don't offer large or Venti sized cups (if you've ever traveled abroad, you know that this is especially common in Europe). I highly suggest you give this new coffee shop a try.

Good coffee and good service but there just needs to be a bit more. Christina the owner who claims to be Swedish is more like Albanian maybe who lived in Sweden. I like the concept but there really isn't a nitch
