When driving through Peoria, The Spotted Cow is an absolutely necessary stop. Not only does it serve fantastic classic American Diner food, but also specializes in it's own kind of Ice Cream and Beef as well. The owner is awesome to talk to, passionate about his business and is open to suggestion, so if you find that the burgers are too small here, you can ask them to make it however you want and they will. I asked them to make their biggest cheeseburger with an additional patty, an onion ring, and some of their seasoned Italian Beef with a side of their homemade potato salad and a custom made Turtle Malted Milkshake. It was a masterpiece and a beast of a meal. This is a prime example of how a restaurant should be run. You can tell that they put their heart and soul into every creation they make, that they have a love for the business they are involved in, and their employees love working there. I strongly recommend it, and I hope to be back again soon someday.
We have been going to the Spotted Cow since it first opened. Frank Abnour(sorry if I mispelled the last name) started with an Ice Cream cart, at special events around Peoria. Then He opened a store on Prospect Rd., in Peoria Heights, IL. "The Cow" ,as we affectionately called it, was a great place to go, after events for treats or when you just craved the "homemade" style ice cream. When the business out grew its space, The Spotted Cow was moved to the new location. The menu expanded, at this time.
The food has always been great and the ice cream the very best. Peoria is very lucky to have an ice cream/ food service restaurant of this caliber. We now live in Montana, but every time we are back in Peoria, we have a lunch date there with several friends. We Love the Spotted Cow and Frank is the best. Keep up the good work, Frank, so glad business is doing great. I would and have recommended The Spotted Cow to many, over the years and will continue to do the same.
The best burgers n fries, italian beef, REAL chicken filet fingers!, tenderloins, and ice cream in Peoria!!! and this is not just from me, but from all that have eaten there! Keep up the good work Spotted Cow Staff!
Picked up some blue wave ice cream for my sons birthday at lunch. Decided to order the Southwest salad. Was the best I have ever had.
Just ate their mushroom Swiss burger with some onion rings. I have yet to try something I didn't like. Also had their seasonal ice-cream (heffermint). This is some of the best I've had. Nice blend of rich ice-cream with a clean and subtle peppermint flavor.
I have been going to the Spotted Cow since I was probably 5 when it was down the street from Slim Clippins, and it has the most legit food in Peoria. The ice cream is utterly fantastic, and their burgers are just perfection to me. I go every chance that I can, and I highly recommend you stop by the next time you have a craving for diner food.
Fantastic food and prompt service. The owner himself was very much involved.
Delicious food and ice cream. We loved it when Frank was there, but haven't met the new owner. The tenderloins and Italian beef are the best ever. French fries and onion rings are great as is the salad with chicken. If the new owner keeps the same recipes we will still keep going there. A #1
Delicious burgers and a whole ice cream bar! Never have had a bad experience. Very friendly.
Best place ever for lunch, dinner or a great ice cream treat!
Best buffalo chicken sandwich in town! Along with a plethora of other great options, homemade ice cream, and great service. Couldn’t ask for more
Always a treat to stop at the spotted cow 🐄 for a nice cool treat 🐄 specially in all this heat / YUMMY 😋
Burger was very good. Fries were ok. Could've been a bit better. First time there and I'll go back.
My husband loved his brownie sunday!!! But my small vanilla milkshake had a really bad freezer burn taste. I only had a few sips of it and couldnt finish it. I was disappointed. Hopefully it was just this one time.....
I've not been able to visit the Spotted Cow much in recent Months (since it was sold) but I did go today. Found out they changed the fries:(, . now skinny fries. I don't like them. Employee says they hear that a lot. Please don't ruin our beloved Spotted Cow by making changes like this. I will order onion rings next time, and if they change those, too, I'll just stick to ice cream and no meal.
I decided to try the Pumpkin Cowpaccino,so I told the teenage girls working that I'd like one. One gave me an exasperated look and said "We actually have to MAKE that whole thing, sooooo....." Needless to say, I didn't get to try my Cowpaccino. Went to Starbucks instead. Gave 2 stars though since the place seemed nice and the ice cream looked good.
Went in for a bowl of chili and thought I would try the turkey club unfortunately they didn’t have any turkey. When we finally got our food the sandwich I ordered was a mess and I got a cup of chili instead of the bowl I ordered. My daughter got 2 hot dogs and they looked like they were sitting in hotdog water all day. When I asked if I could get a bowl of chili instead of the cup liked I ordered the kid pulled the ticket and told me I got what I paid for. My wife’s fries came out cold and all together it cost $45.00. I asked for a manager or someone in charge and I was told no one was in charge. I asked for my money back and after some argument they started trying to refund me only no one new how to do it. Food used to be good the owner used to always be there. It never seemed this expensive either. I never seen a place being run by 5 or6 kids and not one was competent with the cash register.
Such a small selection of ice cream now. Use to many more flavors at this shop and the price per ounce is nowhere posted. I think we should have gone somewhere else.
Servers don't care what they give you. Food wasn't all that good. Very disappointing experience. I would spend your money else where unless you only want ice cream.
