Bhanu-- Absolutely LOVE, LOVE this spot. Indian market/restaurant. Everything on the menu is authentic and delicious. The servers, all real nice (handsome) guys. Always helpful, discriptivly explaining any menu questions. Large variety of Indian products from spices to cosmetics. Homemade dessert case. The wonderful aromas and flavors take your senses on an exotic journey. There's a small, fresh produce section They're open late and accept EBT (Food stamps) for grocery purchases. If you're looking for a FANCY elegant dinning experience, you won't get that here ,however if you're looking for best Indian food in town this is your spot. A thumbs up in my book and apparently, in many others also. This place is always packed.
Get the butter chicken spicy. Sesame naan works well with the curries. Their saffron rice is tasty and moist.
I've been here only once and my impression of the place keeps me from having a desire to come back. First, it's not very clean. The store is divided into two sections: restaurant section and grocery section. The grocery section is very poorly organized and not kept very clean. And seems to be the same problem with the dinning area. The strange smell of the place also makes it hard to enjoy any foods there. The food quality isn't exactly something to brag about. The service in my first (and only) visit was OK - not great. The seating area isn't one that you would impression your first date with. The price: high for what you get.
Excellent food, fast service and friendly staff, the restaurant is wonderful for both dining in and take out. Since half of the business space is allotted to grocery items, the restaurant is very casual.
The menu is broad, including some Chinese dishes, but all of the dishes you'd expect in an Indian restaurant are available. The vegetable samosas are particularly good, as are the chutneys they provide with them.
Prices are average for Indian fare, with two people eating for about $40 (appetizer, 2 dishes, rice and naan) and you'll definitely have leftovers.
A great little Indian grocery store -- makes me nostalgic for India :) You can get just about anything you need for Indian cooking there, as well as an assortment of fresh sweets and chutneys (tip: get the chutneys and freeze them in little cubes. They are super delicious and they're great to have on hand!)
The grocery store is only half of the store - the other half is a little restaurant! Great for a low-key meal or even better for takeout.
Half restaurant, half Indian grocery, all fantastic. Good but packed selection on the grocery side and a great deal on the set meals ("thali") on the restaurant side.
The food in the restaurant is authentic and delicious! The staff is helpful and friendly too. I highly recommend the veggie samosas.
Called to see if they had some ingredients for a recipe I was making. They grabbed them for me and had them waiting behind the counter when I got there. The staff was super friendly and they have a great selection of spices that are very affordable. I love this place!
Pros: does have almost all Indian grocery
Reasonably priced
Helpful staff
Cons: display needs improvement
Indian vegetable variety, both fresh and frozen, is very limited
Restaurant food is average
I'm a chinese guy reviewing Indian food so any attempt at establishing authenticity is out the window. But the food is delicious service is great. I always get the set meal and it's more than enough food. The grocery store component is fun to walk around while waiting for food.
Be caution when purchase in grocery store section. Here is my experience, 6 items of $20.74, overcharged $4.10, the tab from their electronic readers total $24.84. One frozen item price label there for $4.99, charged for $6.99. Another one price label there for $5.99, charge for $6.99. 2 spices were charged $0.50 & 0.60 more. These items are all price labelled in their shelves. Right away I went back to double check each item, and complained. Be noted that some items are not price labelled. I only chose to purchase those that they have price listed. When I complained that they over charged me $4.10, the Indian young man wanted me to go to the freezer and the shelves to check each item with him, which I did. This required some time. To make the story short, he was nice enough to give me my full cash refund. I *paid cash*, so he did give me back my cash full refund . **Remind you to get the receipt when pay. **They didn't give me the receipt. I had to request for one. To go back there to check each item, you do need the receipt. If no receipt, you basically cannot prove what items you purchased, and how much you paid. And, if you pay credit card, there may be another different issue. In addition, you must not be in a hurry to purchase, because all of the above procedure needs ***time.***Tips : 1. Check price yourself before paying 2. If no price label, check price before purchase. (Plenty of items has no price stated there.) 3. Pay cash. 4. Get receipt. 5. You must have a lot of time if, in case you need to do the above procedure like me. Best luck !
Great staff. Food is very nice and well priced. Seating is fun but not conventional. Service is quick.
Really tasty Indian food here. They serve it in a cafeteria styled steel container. The place also has a grocery store connected to it. We got the Curry goat and saffron rice and samosa. The curry goat was yummy. We cleaned all the sauce up. The 3 samosas given were tiny, but delish.
Bhanu has amazing food with highly customizable spice levels (including Naga Jolokia and Carolina Reaper)! The service is efficient and friendly. I'm looking forward to investigating the store portion in the future.
