Love this place!! Great food! Great desserts!! Great people!!! Poached egg on jalapeño cheddar toast and Nutella and banana french toast are my favorites, also the House-made granola w/yogurt is good. EVERYTHING is GOOD!! I get cookies all the time an bread, and they have the best croutons! Yum. Yum. Yum.
Friendly and excellent service even though they were close to closing. Reasonably priced..
Even have a turkey dressing kit with croutons and a recipe!
Unbelievable. What an awesome place!
High quality food. Even a cobb salad was unusual tasty. Perfect balance of all spices.
The best artisan bread and pastry bakery in San Diego. Yes go here immediately! The owner began his career as a comedy writer for Bob Hope and later created the Attack of Killer Tomatoes movie series. Now he's combined what would be for me the intersection of comedy and horror, a bakery. Try any of their fruit tarts. I will have one for my birthday every year until the bakery closes or I perish, whichever comes soonest (no implied causality).
Great place for breakfast and loved the art. Made me feel like I was in San Francisco
Absolutely love this place! Great service and food! Perfect location and a staple in the community.
The best place in southern California for real bread with high standards. Place has been in business for many years and the quality is consistent over the 15 yrs I have been buying bread here.
Service was great and very helpful. Fresh baked goods are great and there are plenty of options. Tried one of their sandwiches and would give it 8 out of 10.
They make great breads here. We get the mix bread plate where you get a choice of three breads with a side of butter, cream cheese and house jam. I prefer their breads over their cakes. They take your order while you're in line which makes it hard to know what you want to order. First scan the case before getting in line. If you're dining in, dint forget your number, they'll bring you're hot dishes to you. On a nice day sit on the patio, it's less noisy.
Fast service. The eggplant feta sandwich was filling and delicious. Loved the olive bread

Now he's combined what would be for me the intersection of comedy and horror, a bakery. If you're from LA and have broken your teeth on La Brea bread, you'll find much more approachable and IMO palatable bread here. Try any of their fruit tarts. San Diego's best kept secret.
If you like real, fresh, authentic, French bread this is the place to go!
There are also fabulous pastries, salads, soups, Keesh, and other delights. It's also a favorite gathering place for locals so you know it's good! I always bring friends visiting from out of town.
Warm french white baguettes and butter. Do it. I'm a little wary of the batards, tho. They always seem to be on the slightly stale side. Otherwise, there's a great selection of breads and not too sweet pastries as well as breakfast items and sandwiches. If you happen to be there on the weekends when the ovens are firing breakfast pizzas, do it.
