Went for our Anniversary and were treated exemplary. The atmosphere was just what we were hoping for and the food was amazing. The bread was fresh, warm and crusty. The salad was very good (lemon champagne vinaigrette) and the French Onion soup was robust and not overly salted. I thoroughly enjoyed my appetizer of Crab cakes and my husband enjoyed Escargot. Entrees for us included NY steak & fries for him and I ordered the Prawns Scampi with perfectly cooked asparagus and rice. We shared the Strawberry Mascarpone Creme Brulee, made perfectly. Great meal, great place!

We've eaten at Layfayette for some time now. We don't go to Exeter very often, but when we do it's always to Layafyette or Monet's. Even when we lived in Fresno, these were destination restaurants. We now live in Visalia, and there's still no better restaurants in the valley.



We attended Layfayette's event this last Wednesday, a taste of Paris. The best ever! I can't wait until they send us the recipes! The mushroom soup was incredible! The wine parings, superb. I was interested to see what they'd do with hanger steak. OMG! O I forgot the salad. I have never been a fan of beets. So I expected that I'd push them aside and hope that they didn't contaminate the rest of the salad. How wrong I was. I even ate them! So good!



4 courses and 4 wines, each one better than the last. Needless to say I will get my tickets for the next one straight out of the gate, I only wish I could get a season pass.

We were lucky to get a table on a Friday night without a reservation. the service was excellent and the food was the best yet!!! I had a fillet that was cooked perfectly (rare, but a little bit toward medium). My husband had the fish special (cod) which he said was done perfectly. Our drinks were good size and brought to us immediately (after a long day). I actually spoke to the chef before we left telling him that he should apply for the James Beard award based on our meal......

We happily celebrate our anniversaries, Valentines Day's and many other special occasions at this beautiful restaurant. If you haven't attended their wine dinners, be sure to! They're a lot of fun! We've also booked their banquet room for group workshops and staff parties with success!! Thank you, Cafe Lafayette for pouring your heart into your cafe!

We had our company dinner on Friday. 15 of us and it was fantastic! The food is always top notch here, I recommend the clams. The service rocks and we felt like the only table there even tho the restaurant was full. Fred has a wonderful staff, and this could be our annual spot!!! The ambiance of this high end restaurant is amazing. I was there last Saturday and the meals were outstanding and I loved the Jazz Music Mark and George played that enhanced this fine dining experience.

Met girlfriends for lunch...impeccable service from our server Renee, authentically fresh rustic bread, fresh fruit and cheese plate. Melt in your mouth tritip, all food fresh and appealing to the taste buds ! The sour lemon tart and creme brûlée makes one imagine they were dining in Paris! Tres Magnifies!! Will drive from Sonora to eat here again! Next time I will indulge in the wine though!

Love, Love, LOVE this quaint and charming restaurant!!! 25 years of marriage and we still try to do date night at least once a week, more often than not date night finds us at Café Lafayette!! The ambience is unique, the staff and servers are “top drawer”! The food is divine and filling yet always leaves us wanting more!! The menu is exceptional and the specials are a treat to the palate!

Would have date night there more than once a week if my husband schedule would allow!!

John and the entire crew were wonderful! We had to change venues on an event with less than 10 days notice, and they pulled it off for us! Everyone loved the food, and the beautiful room. The prices are fair, and the service is wonderful. Since moving to The Central Valley from South California it has been hard to find a café with good service, good food, and a clean space. This place is spot on! Thank you for all your help! My sister-in-law had a wonderful day at her Baby Shower thanks to all of you! This will now be our go to for all meet ups in the area. I had the best meal last night. Bacon wrapped scallops were the best we've ever had. The rice was amazing. Buttery and melted in my mouth. The crepe for dessert was sinful. The berries were flavorful and not overly sweet. The crepe was firm and delicious. Everything was perfect. Thank Audrey and Fred for making it a wonderful meal.

Food, service and ambience was wonderful but the shortest pour of of wine I’ve ever encountered. 4oz?! That’s offensive especially as it’s not mentioned in the menu.

Went out for dinner with my husband....Lovely court yard, nice staff. However, we ordered the New York steak dinner...Cost 32.00 per dinner.....we were served a wonderful salad, my wine was good and when they brought out the steak is was served with FRENCH FRYS...excuse me for lunch maybe, but not for dinner....very disappointed...total bill 103.00, a tough steak, and French frys with catsup.....will not be coming back.....

What a disappointment! My first time there and the service was lacking..reservations at 8..after asking, we sat down at 8:45.. No silverware, no water, no bread..asked several times...nothing..finally headed to the bar and got silverware..didn't eat until 9:30ish..food was cold..didn't complain..thank god there was good entertainment..where was the manager?

We had a dinner for about 12 people there and it took 3 HOURS to serve and OK meal!! Their bar service is glacial in its speed even when there are few people in the restaurant. Bleh.
