Each one of your support by kind words, purchasing coffee, hanging out with us, giving me hugs, driving a little farther, making us laugh when we remember this horrible day, it means the world to us all the daily support we receive. This was our first home when it shut down we were and still are devastated. It will never be the same.... If we didn’t have all of you around us we would of skipped town. But your love and support helped us stay and keep growing and wanting to support Stockton! Don’t let us down anymore STOCKTON. 🥰😊😀Thanks for listening! In celebration of his recent release, local author Christian Espinoza (@viewmultimedia_ ) has transformed our College Square location! His children’s book “The Other Side,” is a story about a small village that fears a remote monster that roams outside and the way a child named Biko perceives, interprets, and responds to the fear of a monster inside his village. @ Empresso Coffeehouse College Square

Very good coffee and just a nice place to sit and talk. The building itself has a special place in my heart. One of my first jobs was working at the Stockton Royal Theatre. Good memories i will never forget ♥
This place is amazing. I always come by and get a coffee, or a Frapp and a sandwich. This places is WAY BETTER than starbucks.
This is one AWSOME place! The Coffee is great and the staff is very nice. Convenience is key to me in my busy schedule. Good food as well.
This is my Coffeehouse I really like supporting a local business. I miss the spot on the mile, but the staff are awesome the drinks are great and it's a great place to hung out with friend's and relax, going to check out the new local downtown it's way closer to home. Would definitely recommend this place to everyone 5stars!!
This is by far the best coffeehouse in Stockton! Their specialty drinks are amazing, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. It's always a great way to start my day!
The staff is awesome they had high water campfire stout on tap it was great I also tried they’re peanut butter frappe that too amazing to this guy...check em out I’m used to Bay Area coffee house this place is awesome
The flavor I wasn't expecting what I got out of it it was absolutely great taste was good and it did its job
One of the best mochas that I have ever had, the breakfast sandwich (ham & swiss on a croissant) was excellent, and I wish we had more time to soak up the ambiance. When we head home from Santa Cruz to Reno, I am sorely tempted to manage a return visit.
Needed a coffee spot after Exotic Java shut down, after having Empresso recommended to me for almost a year I finally made my way to the shop. It's amazing. Great atmosphere, good service, and phenomenal drinks. Best in stockton easily. Nice to have somewhere to sit and enjoy coffee, frappes, etc and not have it be that crap that Starbucks serves. Will definitely be returning.
I really like this place. If you haven't been there you're not one of the cool kids and you should try it so you're cool like me. It reminds me of the coffee shop on the tv show "Friends" couches and all. Very chill atmosphere.
I love the atmosphere, all the Art Deco on the walls, and the eclectic collection of customers they have. Very throwback and retro.
Amazing chai.
Hard to find a good old& fashioned coffee house these days. I will drive out if my way every day for this place.
Great place to have coffee with friends and meet up. I like that they have a bulletin board where you can leave flyers & computers to use.
I also really love that they have events there and it's a locally owned business.
It's important for me to support local businesses
Great coffee a wonderful staff , simply the best. My home away from home.
I was in Stockton just passing and found this place on goggle it had a great coffees at reasonable prices and a great vibe.....I'll go back
I have to be in Stockton one day every month and this is my go to spot. Great ambiance, really good coffee and a nice spot for a Sunday beer. The staff is always friendly and the environment relaxing the reasonably fast WiFi is a bonus!
I enjoy the coffee house. The vibe is kool. Kind of 60's if you tune out the music. Being a "mature" person (in my 60's), I dig the atmosphere. The food/drinks are good, the staff are polite, I appreciate the free books in front as I read when I'm there. Love the outdoor seating, don't like the smoking, but there is something for everyone. :)
I believe. Many years. Improvement? Utilization of space, namely the theatre. I can imagine many ways to lift the community, support local artists of all kinds, remind Folks of Empresso's place in Stockton's history, yada, yada, WITHOUT cash out of the register and very likely bringing more in.
Unfortunately, on the 1st day of my New Year, I had a pretty bad experience (once again mind you) at Empresso Coffeehouse. Let me first start off by saying I really think this place is cool. I like the array of events that happen there and the majority of people who frequent the spot seem to be artistic & peaceful. It's the customer service & attitude from certain staff members that is the problem. Not all of them but certain ones for sure. I tend not to go to Empresso Coffeehouse so often anymore due to several other past incidents that happened there with staff but after a year or 2 hiatus from this place, I've recently tried to let bygones be bygones & started to visit the place once or twice a month again. But today's incident took the cake. Literally. This just reenforced the reason why I stopped going there in the first place. I went in this place of business to purchase several pastries for me and my family to enjoy for New Year's. The cashier by the name of Tiffany was helping a white lady in front of me. The service she provided to the lady before me seemed to be pretty good & fair. But I immediately noticed a not so friendly vibe from Tiffany once it was my turn for assistance. Maybe she's having a bad day or a hang over from last night's New Year's festivities but whatever it is, she seemed to be not so friendly specifically towards me. I overlooked her unfriendly demeanor and waited & waited for her to at least say hello or how can I help you. After about 30-45 uncomfortable seconds of me standing right in front of her while she acted as if she didn't see me there, she finally looked up and says "Do you need something?" I brushed that off as well and told her yes while pointing to the piece of pastry that I wanted. She looked at the pastry as if she was frustrated, then asked, "Is that all you want?". I told her that I'd like to order several more pastries as well. After she sighed & acted like she was doing me a favor by dragging herself to the back room to get a box to place the pastries in, she came back and started picking pieces other than what I had asked for. I reiterated that I wanted the particular pieces that I asked for. She began to argue with me saying all the pieces were the same. Even though they were not all the same, I asked if all the pieces are the same, why can't I choose the piece that I want? She began to tell me how she can't choose one piece over another & how they have to pick a certain piece and blah blah blah. It didn't make a bit of sense. I tried to brush it off again and asked her to please give me what I'm paying for and she was absolutely reluctant in providing me with what I asked for. I then asked for her manger and she informed that Empresso Coffeehouse does not have a manager. Found that strange as well. Then I asked who is the owner. She not so willingly told me his name is Troy but he can not be contacted for blah blah blah reasons once again. Made no sense. I immediately turned and left the building. I have since obtained Troy's full name (Troy Burke), email, Facebook, etc. and messaged him about this incident. I truly hope he or someone who acts as some sort of management for this place responds or contacts me soon in regards to this extremely poor & unacceptable customer service being directed towards a paying customer that would actually like to frequent this place of business. I'm not sure why she acted this way & I don't want to make any assumptions that seem to be part of the reason why because I don't want to believe in hate to that degree in a place of business like this but until I am contacted, I have no choice but to go back to my previous sentiments about Empresso Coffeehouse & take my money elsewhere. Please learn how to treat all customers the same regardless of race, gender, if you're having a bad day, etc. Your paying customers deserve that. Happy New Year!
