When the Michelin penned letter arrived at Flavas Jamaican Grill last fall, owner Leroy Douglas was thrilled to realize his restaurant had earned this prestigious ranking. "I wasn't expecting it at all," Douglas said. "Michelin sends anonymous inspectors in, so I didn't even realize we were in the running! It was neat to see what they noticed about the restaurant to put into the guide, from our authentic food, to our service and even our music." "My first experience with Jamaican food--and I can't imagine experiencing this anywhere else! We ordered 1 of every appetizer, along with side of plantains, rice and beans, festivals and a side of braised oxtails. Jerk chicken wings, baked mini chicken and beef patties, codfish fritters, jerk pork pieces, fried corn crusted shrimp. Have I mentioned dessert? Sweet potato pudding with rum raisin ice cream and Jamaican rum cake. Heaven on Earth!!!"

"Happy. This place just opened up in July of 2014. Heard a lot of good things. The braised oxtail was melt in your mouth good. Quaint atmosphere, reasonably priced and friendly service are always a positive. Glad that it's minutes from home. I'll be back." Says M.D on Yelp.com

Here is a new review from a customer on Yelp: " I had the goat curry, the curry was absolutely fantastic! A thick curry with great melange of spices and not very spicy or hot. It came with a side of cabbage (another great preparation) and rice and fried plantains. The rice was packed with so much flavor, it had a hint of coconut, which I thought worked perfectly with the curry, but it could be easily be eaten on its own. The portion sizes were pretty huge as well. I would definitely go back!!"

The oxtail/jerk Chicken combo is the best to me...the gravy mixed with the rude and beans...Very flavourful and tender meat.

Oooh sooo yummy. Every bite a satisfying Jamaican culinary chomp. Quick enough for an employee lunch hour, thrifty enough for a working person's lunch and tasty enough for the gourmet in you. Skip the overly-sweet Jamaican sodas but the rest of the menu is perfect.

Me and my girls/family favorite place to come to. Great customer service and the owner/chef comes out and see if your satisfied. I may not be Jamaican but when I come here I always feel at home. This restaurant is a must to go to. The food is AMAZING!!!!
