Very pretty and neat store with welcoming staff and tasty homemade produces. A must in SF
Two doors down from my place, great location! Tried a plain croissant, BIG MISTAKE...in a GOOD WAY!!! Best croissant I've ever had...will be gaining weight. Seriously Tartine's got nothing on this place.
The brie en croute is a dream. Stop in and get one and thank me later. Excellent coffee as well. Really, everything is just wonderful.
THE best pastries in town. Everything on the menu is incredible. I'd live here if I could.
Stopped in on a visit from out of town and I must say Hearth is such a homey place. I had a cup of the Guatemala and I thought it was very good cup of coffee, and the croissant was amazing. A great place with a view of the trolleys, you should really work this into your SF travels.
Pricey however very good food and service. I just had to justify the price which is in part high because it’s in SF.
Love this place! Walked into their anniversary party by mistake and they were so welcoming and had us join, fun night!
Incredible shop x first time to San Fran, first coffee brought, Loved it
Great food. I ordered the breakfast sandwich and loved it.
Fantastic danish/croissants/etc.. real lattes and very personable staff! Glad we stumbled across this gem!
The craziest prices for coffee and pastries in all of SF!
2nd time here in less than two weeks. I like it.

As pointed out in the comments, I did visit Hearth again when I visited San Francisco and the Castro in Feb 2017 -- nearly over a year after I visited this place. While the service was definitely good this time, it was a different person. The coffee and espresso were good -- the espresso was certainly very good and strong and maybe one of the best I have had. The coffee seemed to be improved but still a little more acidic than I would have liked, and seemed overpriced for the quality.
There is a nice sitting area by the window and also by the bar. I will certainly visit this place again.

I am visiting SF and I was walking around the neighborhood. I happened to see this place from the street and it looked nice. The coffee drink I got was okay and not commensurate with the price. I didn't think this was a very welcoming place. The barista automatically assumed I was getting it to go while they asked the others if they are staying or it is to-go (and it was my intention to sit there) but I didn't feel I like I could.
For some reason their disposition seemed like they wanted me to leave. There are several coffee shops in and around that are very good and much better in quality and the environ.
