This review is for their take home Thanksgiving dinner 2017.

Ordering and pick up was super simple. We ordered over the phone using their online menu and then picked up in the parking lot behind the restaurant.

The pick up point was well staffed and despite a rush of people picking up I was in and out in under ten minutes.

The provided heating instructions were simple to follow.

Most importantly, the food was great. The only complaint I have was that the turkey was pretty dry. Everything else was pretty awesome though.

This place is a lot of fun. Not cheap but you can find all sorts of gems, all delicious I bet. It’s a bit of a scene but I enjoy the European touch and flair.

Delicious food (try the short rib sandwich, amazing), the fresh mozzarella, tomato & basil. Another great dish is the grilled maple rosemary chicken breast. Prices are moderate to expensive. Try the Lemonade "prestige". All in all, great experience. Observations:
There is waiting for seating
Staff friendly but seems distracted
Tables needs to be more clean

You have to know what to order. Some of the offerings are just bland, others are way too salty, and then there's a few really great options. I've been here several times, and honestly, the food just isn't worth the price for how inconsistent it can be. The grocery items are also crazy expensive. You can get a bottle of sparkling water at the local minimart for 4x cheaper. Also, service is hit or miss. Not sure what happened, as it used to be great. I heard that one of Joan's daughters that runs the place and is married to the chef had an affair with the lesbian manager, so maybe some internal management issues.

Overpriced prepared foods. Perfect for the Beverly Hills trust fund kids and waify wannabes. The Stars I have are for the pastries which are always fresh and more reasonably priced.

Elegant place. Great foods and quick service. Highly recommended.

Came here for breakfast with the kids.

Pros: nice food, interesting place
Cons: waitress walking round with a face like a slapped arse. Service was poor

It's kinda like a really nice hotel gift shop. The atmosphere and really friendly employees help justify the prices in the moment. Killer cheese selection and they actually have a to go cheese box that's like $20 and so worth driving to get as opposed to making your own for those nights you craving that. That's probably the best deal there.

Joan's is a classic and well-loved LA establishment. Don't be surprised if you see some celebs come in either – it's a favorite of many! Their sandwiches and salads are great, and if you cater this to a meeting, it'll be well-appreciated. Parking can be tough on 3rd street, be sure to read the signs carefully if you street park!

Last time we came the food was very good. Very disappointed this time.

Tables were dirty had to ask them to come clean off the table. When they did they wiped it down with a paper towel, I had to ask for them to use a soapy dish towel to clean it off well cause there was milk residue our something.

I order their chicken sandwich that came with brie cheese and asked for fresh mozzarella , which they had, but, they said they couldn't do it because it was their signature dish. Then my daughter ordered a grilled cheese sandwich and asked for it on a different bread. She too was told no. She then ordered their omelette and it was very runny and tasteless.

I wouldn't go back.

When you can't order things the way you like them they don't taste as good.

Awesome food and scene. But it comes at a cost, and that is price. Service is usually above par, and parking is a B.

Great experience, but harder habit.

love the Chinese Chicken salad. Love it. The sandwiches are always great , and you have to get the lemonade. You won't be disapointed

I got the chicken bacon brie w caramelized onions sandwich on a baguette minus the bacon. It was all yummy delicious. A great overall experience although I was confused as to whether I could sit and order or order at the counter. You have to make the appropriate line and then pay before you sit.
