Great place to take kids and have some great family bonding time. Prices are ok but fun experience and realistic.
Really good place if you love the speed, if you don’t like it like me, you just will make it less fun for the rest
Had fun racing around the track. The carts are electronic and have good acceleration without the gas smell.
Best birthday party location for my twin teenage sons! My entire experience was amazing!! The staff were super friendly & answered all of my questions, & emails! When we arrived at the downtown San Diego K1 Speed we were blown away at the enormous size of the track! There was ample viewing from couches, chairs, & tables along the perimeter. We chose the two race birthday package, about 1.5hrs long, with a 15min break between races. The staff explained the rules, provided & helped with the racing gear, & gave trophies to the top 3 racers at a podium "ceremony!" All racers also got to take home a K1 Speed t-shirt, racing stats, & the sensation of having raced their friends at speeds up to 45mph! We decided only to bring cake & water & not pay extra for catering or a private room($90). That saved us, as the price of a party there is higher than what we'd normally pay. This splurge was definitely worth it!
This is the only place I've ever gone go-carting so I might be a bit biased, but I really enjoyed the experience. There is a small arcade available while you're waiting and a bunch of comfy couches. The facilities are all well kept and the price is reasonable....considering it's California....
Fun racing! The electric karts are more exciting than the gas ones, and the larger track feels more like racing and requires a bit more thought to get the best times compared to smaller tracks. Nicer staff than Miramar Speed Circuit in my opinion.
Other K1s have faster cars, or configured to accelerate faster. Track is wide enough to have cool battles. Fast service.
The cost is $19.99 per race and I would compare the food selection to a movie theater. Microwaved pretzels, stale popcorn, candy, and soda. Good place to bring kids. The crew was very efficient and safety was paramount at all times.
This track is a no joke good time. The carts are pretty fast and the staff is friendly. The printouts you get at the end are really cool for tracking your progress. My husband uses them as a trophy to prove that he is better than I am at go-carts.
great place, great people. love racing? this is the place! got to race with a bunch of corvette owners! wooped my butt
When asked what I want to do the answer is almost always go-kart race. I love the race, trying to beat the other racers and my own best lap time. It can take a while so if you can go on a weekday you will cut down the wait time and you will be less likely to have lots of people who block you. They do ask drivers to make room for faster drivers. It's a great system. Good clean fun.
I called to check on the wait time and we were told 30 min. I know that that time is subject to change and is only an estimate, however, when we showed up, there was a GP event taking place and the wait was 1hr 20m, so we left. It would have been nice if the person on the phone told me there was an event taking place. It would have saved me the 30 min drive.
Costs a lot of money. Do your research.
It takes hours to race. If you get 3 races you will get 14 laps about 3 to 5 minutes long, it will be an hour and a half between races. So be prepared to wait several hours for 3 races. 5 minutes each. Takes all day.
Not worth the time or money. Be specific with the races you want they will neglect to call your name and you will have to wait another hour for your last race.
