Nice little place fir authentic South Indian food. I always go there for breakfast. Their Upma and filter coffee are divine .

Good food at very reasonable costs. The service is really quick considering the large crowds. One of the best value Indian food places in the Bay Area.

Authentic South Indian cuisine. Vegetarian restaurant with also vegan and gluten free options. Always full with Indian people which is a good sign. The food is simply amazing. You have to order at the counter and then wait to be seated as its usually very full but quick.

Excellent South Indian (vegetarian) food. It's a restaurant but don't go for a restaurant experience - its more like a tiffin place. Pay first to be seated. Food comes first, utensils are self served. It can get incredibly crowded on weekends. But the food makes up - pretty authentic south indian food.

Good food. Especially the dosas! All of them come with three house made sauces or chutneys which are totally exceptional 👌
Tried one special uttapam that was not so great. But overall food quality was good 👍

Awesome food. Great taste they serve authentic south Indian food. I and my friends had a great time. Super friendly staff who are always ready to help. Pretty quick service. Definitely going back.

This is a place where you get reasonable value for money food, and nothing more than that. It is an extremely functional place, in the sense that it exists to serve food and nothing else. Do not expect ambience or good music or heart warming service because that is not what you go there for. You go there for quick south Indian food, and you get that. The staff is friendly, the food is tasty (though I have definitely had better elsewhere), the place is reasonably priced and it is very conveniently located.

Very Good food. Everything was pretty good. Service is a little strange -- but I would not call it bad. They do there best and are nice. Place was crazy crowded. Worth the wait, though.

Great food. Clean atmosphere. Easy on the wallet. Whats not to love? They move a ton of people through here and the maintain a great standard of quality. Check it out!

Great South Indian food. Not too spicy. Not too expensive. Quick service once seated. It has a pay before you eat ordering service.

You know a place is good when it's filled with the people from that culture. Madras cafe is an oasis. A diamond in the rough. Amazing. Just like being in India. Lightning fast service. The batoora crumbled like fine french pastry. The dosa cam with a delicious, colourful assortment of chutneys. It was a feast for the senses.

One of the quintessential South Indian tiffin center experiences. Don't be intimidated by the long queues you see through the breakfast/lunch time. Just wait and you will see that the queue moves pretty fast. You pay for the food at the counter and wait for your name to be called out. Everything on their menu is good. Can't go wrong with any thing. Don't expect any service here (and hence the 1 star deduction). Absolute value for money considering the quality of food and their prices.
