Nice clean sit down restaraunt..my last visit the service was not so good, but the other 100 times I came here, service was excellent...love the muffins and quiche..I will be back soon..
My boyfriend and I decided to get the two eggs breakfast for brunch and we were so disappointed. We've come here multiple times for it and never had a problem with it until today. Our potatoes were frozen. After having sent it back, all the manager does is tell us sorry and that she's "investigating"! There was no consolation in the apology and no offer on how it could be made better. No "hey, how about we take this much off the check" or "let me give you a complimentary whatever." Nothing was done to make it better. I'm honestly more upset with the manager than the frozen potatoes. So if a customer is going to be treated like that, I'd rather take my business elsewhere.
Went there for breakfast with wife. The food was pretty much standard , it took a long time to get, the restaurant was not busy. We blaim the waiter Chris as he was not friendly and not attentive, we had to ask other waiters for stuff since he was never around. This is not our first Mimi's as we used to go a lot in S.D. I saw some managers greeting regulars but the never stopped by our table to ask how we were doing. Even when we left a manager told the people ahead of us good bye but ignored us. That's why Chris didn't get a good tip.
Always a great place for work lunches. Food is great. Service is friendly (although I think we may have had a new waiter today who wasn't too attentive and forgot a couple of things but that's okay). They changed their menu and the salmon salad is a bit different than before. Smaller portion but enough. No complaints.
It was pretty good. Had a jambalaya pasta special they had. That was really good. The wife had fish and chips. That was pretty good. The fries were great. Free bread was tasty. Clam chowder was ok. The wife had corn chowder. I liked that better. But it's Mimi's I guess you kinda know what to expect.
The service was terrific. No complaints there. I was so disappointed with the lack of vegetarian options . I asked the server if a veggie burger could be substituted. No veggie burgers, no salads without meat, no sandwiches without meat. I ended up ordering an egg white sandwich off the breakfast menu. My daughter also a vegetarian, ordered ice cream for dinner. I am suggesting that your sales would increase if you offered a few vegan and vegetarian options. Most families and groups in California have a vegetarian or vegan. I met out of town relatives here or I would have left without ordering.
To end on a positive note, our service was excellent and the restaurant was very clean.
Add some vegetarian salads, a veggie burger, some quinoa and beans, at least a grilled cheese or humus wrap or vegetarian chili and I'll be back and bring my veggie / vegan friends and family.
Great server! Amy♡ Delicious salad too! Chicken chopped salad. Didn't want to have chicken, so Amy suggested Avocado. Perfect😊
Due to the number of good reviews, we took an out of town guest there yesterday for a late lunch.
Unfortunately, our experience was not that good. Our server was great and our drinks and appetizers came quickly, but it took over 30 minutes for our meals to arrive. The mediterannian salad was really good, but the two sandwiches were lukewarm, and the burger was quite rare in the middle. One sandwich was sent back and returned to us a few minutes later, having been put back on the grill and now missing most of the mushroom and cheese toppings. Neither of those meals were eaten. Our server offered to comp those meals, and the manager came a few minutes later saying the meals would be removed from our bill and offering anything else on the menu, which was nice, but I'm not sure about returning in the future.
The restaurant is family owned and operated, making the service and knowledge about the food top notch. Our waitress knew our names, always made sure we were satisfied, and clearly enjoyed her job. This restaurant is a must if you are traveling through Newport Beach.
The service was very good. Only problem is the breakfast potatoes weren't good at all. No flavor no sesoning. Very bland. But the french toast were so good.
Ok so just finished dinner. Waitress was nice. Used buy one get one free. Salomon was good but needs woek on plating food and not over salting. Shrimp pasta was blan . Gave four stars cause menu actually was with a better selection of why Mimi's made it this far in the city. People come back but choose the food you want wisely. Thanks
I love their menu. Great eggs Benedict. (3 types) for the mornings. A number of burger options for lunch and some wonderful new pasta dishes I've tried for dinner.
