Very delicious bakery! They are usually very crowded because of how popular they are!! They have a big variety to choose from, and have nice customer service! The only downside is, they are right off of a main Street, so you need to find parking in the back somewhere. I usually park in a FREE parking structure that is pretty close to it, and just walk from there! But it's totally worth it!
Great service and good food. The bakery had foods that were spot on coming from a Cuban who grew up in Miami. The place can get busy so I suggest to go early and try to go on a day that is nice out to enjoy the outdoor seating. The prices considering the setting and quality of food your good is a great deal too. Growing up where the is a Cuban bakery on every corner of my neighbor good in miami Florida and take my hat off to Porto's for a job well done. Highly recommend a visit.
I admire this place!!! Superb food & customer service. Astonished by super long lines of devoted customers which validates the food quality, kindness of staff, & efficiency of service. I respect how they serve squared plates made from leaves (bamboo??) in order to be considerate of a healthy Earth. These plates are more expensive for them but they care about the environment too.The dish I had was of a juicy grilled chicken plate with soft-sweet plantains, rice, & tasty black beans. I am curious about why all the workers seem so authentically happy (almost like Santa's 🎅elves 😂😂).
We came around 10am, which is the best time. There are lines, but not too long and the flow is just smooth. It gives you time to select your choices while waiting for your turn. Kevin, the smiley face young guy served us. They’re all smiling, but Kevin has the widest smile, even his eyes smile😊. He didn’t rush me and totally enjoyable to be served by Kevin. When you enter an eatery where everybody seems to be having fun doing their jobs, the food seem to smile along and inviting. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
We come here often. One of our most favorite place in LA. It is surprising only if you don't find a long queue. Don't be scared of the queue - it would move fast. We like everything here. There are good amount of vegetarian options. The presentation of their food is way beyond. There is a 3 hour free parking behind the building. There are chairs inside and outside to sit and eat. Do spend some time to eat here and also get some stuff To Go to your friends and family. Worth it!
Love this place!!! EVERYTHING is good! Pastries? Yum! Sandwiches? Yum! Desserts? YUM!!! But be aware, this place gets very busy during lunch, evenings and on the weekends. However, if he line looks long, do not be discouraged. The workers are very efficient, and the line moves fairly quickly. If its going out the door...expect at least a 20 minute wait, and even harder to find a table if eating there.
Apologies for the terrible photo. The counter wraps around the corner but I could actually see 37 staff behind the counter serving and making coffee, not counting bakers in the back. 100s of things to choose from, and exceptional and friendly service. We were given three things to try (entire items, not samples). I was left impressed... and it was less than half the price I was expecting.
Great sandwiches and pastries.
Porto's is an iconic place in Glendale, CA . It is known for the quality of their food and delicious cakes. Prices have gone up a little, but regardless of that, the place is always packed, very long lines to order, but is worth the wait!
Love Porto's....and very happy to learn that they have opened a new restaurant in Downey, CA.
Simply amazing. You can't go wrong with anything here. Fresh baked greatness and such friendly service. The woman who helped us gave us some amazing food to sample without even asking. She wanted us to try their most popular items since we had never been here before. The cheese rolls and potato balls are to die for!!!
Crazy busy even in off hours but the line moves pretty fast. The display case is heaven to anyone who enjoys baked goods. The cheese roll seemed to be a must have and it was very good as were the cafe sandwiches. Highly recommended.
This place will never not be crowded. I went before "peak hours" so the lines were fairly short. I have had the pastries and they were always good. This time I went for lunch and it worked out great. I would recommend trying out something different besides their pastries. It was quite good.
Highly recommend this bakery...so much to choose from.
Cheese rolls are a must, I also bought a dozen pork tamales which is quite tasty..I prefer heating up my tamale in the toaster oven which comes out a little crispy outside and soft inside,my boy's grab a tamale whenever they want a snack...which makes it convenient for me.
I also bought a large mocha coffee and I feel it blows Starbucks away!
I went here today and it was my first time. I felt like a kid in a candy store, I wanted everything. The price is great, food, smoothie , and pastry taste good and fresh. The staff is friendly. There was a long line outside, but the next thing I knew I was inside ordering almost everything. I will definitely be back.
