I like to think that you can feel the "old soul" of San Francisco when you dine at Rocco's. My family has been cooking for hungry folks here in this great city since the 1930s, and we're not going anywhere any time soon!

Whenever we come to the city with friends or relatives, we always dine (lunch or dinner), at Rocco's. Have always been happy with every aspect of the visit.

Went here for breakfast 2 days in a row. Their pancakes are amazing! And the staff are very friendly. Would definitely recommend the food here.

We love this local spot. Great for early breakfast with the family, late brunch and for dinner! Relaxed atmosphere, friendly servers and huge portions.

This place is a gem, it's been a weekly spot for us since we moved here 4 months ago. The pasta is delicious and the specials are always spectacular. What really makes this a great spot is the staff. They are warm and friendly and make you feel extra welcome. We will keep coming back for as long as we live in the Bay!

Stumbled upon this spot the Saturday night before Christmas. With gifts in hand, we headed in the door to take a chance. We quickly realized it was a fairly small spot, and maybe a table was not going to happen. Before we had decided, we were greeted warmly by the boss with a very honest layout of our odds and options with no reservation. We were happy to wait. He then offered to store our packages in a locked closet, so our hands were free to check out the wine list. He then came over and took our drink order. We ordered a bottle of Primativo. It was delicious. While waiting, we were joined in line by another couple. They received the same warm honest welcome, having arrived without reservations as well. Just then, a large table for 6 opened up right in the window. We were offered to split the table, which we gladly did. From there, we got food. It was amazing food. I would put the meatball up in my top 3 of all time. Mostly because I have worked for some amazing chefs in my career. This meatball was pure bliss. Perfect bright marinara. The best penne I have ever eaten. Penne is usually my least fav pasta due to being so poorly cooked by many. The penne was beyond perfect. Unfortunately, mostly due to super high volume service, our appetizer orders were lost. I will be back for those! Portions for dinner were filling, so by the time the wine was gone, we were happy. We were celebrating a birthday, which did come with a song and dessert. A sweet finish to a great meal. Lessons learned here, make a reservation at Rocco's! Also, eat at Rocco's! Loving that we have such good Italian so close to home!

It’s a great place for Italian food. Delicious meals. Friendly staff.

I've lived in the neighborhood for years and this is the spot...brunch fantastic but I always get the Roccos favorite frittata .

Came in yesterday for SF's best Ciopinno which always is a pleasure. Takes me forever to crack and peel but that's part of the fun. Chef Don comes by to make sure everyone is having a good experience and servers are great..Lenora is awesome. I always sit at the counter just to watch and see the amazing dishes come out.

And I've never left without a bag of goodness because the portions are huge.

I'm eating my leftover linguine w/ clams in a white sauce right now, that I brought home. Soooooo good. It's nice to be able to jump in the car and go to a restaurant that never disappoints! 😋🥗🍝☕️😋

I was visiting from SoCal and hands down, this was the best Italian I’ve had. I would make the flight just to have it again. Service and food ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Great little place for some delicious food. Me and my best friend love to eat here before going dancing. Linguine n clams with the white sauce is to die for.

Great little neighborhood spot. Comfortable atmosphere, delicious food, super-friendly service. If I lived nearby, I'd be a regular. Besides, you have to love a place where you walk in to hear the sounds of Elton John and Kiki Dee playing "Don't Go Breaking My Heart!" Be sure to check this place out.

Great food, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Old established place South of Market still going strong.

A wonderful neighborhood restaurant with great food prepared by the always-friendly Chef Don! It’s one of the things I miss most about San Francisco since I moved to DC.

We make it a destination once a year for the Folsom st fair. The breakfast is one of the best, service is efficient and always on it. The line at these times is a little long but the time seems to fly by.

This place is awesome the food was good. The only bad thing was my potatoes were cold by the time I got them but they were still good.

Anonymous

I had the Sam's scramble. It was huge. Probably about four servings of egg hamburger spinach potatoes. It was just okay. The homemade biscuit was the best part. The place was very busy people waiting every seat taken. It seemed to us that there was only one waitress so kinda weird. I would go back and give it another try and order something else.
