Wonderful fresh ingredients and very reasonable prices! Love the selection of wine & beer they carry! OMG the $25/gourmet dinner for two plus a bottle of wine? Can't beat that

We were a party of 6 at 12 o'clock on a Saturday. We were fortunate to get a round table best for visiting. All 6 of us got in line together, ordered promptly, purchased cookies and drinks at the register. All food was served at the same time, a variety Asian salad, both the seasonal and herb salmon, roast beef sandwich, green goddess sandwich, the July special turkey, bacon club sandwich, and a variety of side dishes. Everything was delicious! We chatted until 2:30, all staff were friendly and doing a great job of handling the busy Saturday lunch crowd.
We went for the $25 for two dinner special. It was seafood pasta, it was great. Could have hardly made the dinner myself for that price, since it also included a nice bottle of wine. My husband is a wine geek and he approved of the nice Italian wine. It was crowded and noisy because it was so hot, everyone was eating inside. Look forward to going again when the weather is better and eating outside.
We ordered the cauliflower, bacon pizza; lemon chicken breast; green hearts of romaine; chili and salad combo; Brussel sprouts; mashed potatoes; lemon bar; German chocolate cake and a macaroon.
Everything was delicious !!!!
The line was long and it took about 20 minutes to get my food but it was worth it
The food was awesome. The atmosphere was great. It was my first time there but definitely won't be my last.
The best inside, patio, service,food
Sellands is first class in terms of what they offer and how GOOD everything is. I've never once ordered something mediocre or unappealing. Though they aren't cheap, I'll go back as much as I can -- got lots I still need to try! Starting with dinner for 2 for $25!!
Lovely spacious patio, delicious food, reasonably priced (we got the dinner for two with a bottle of wine), they allowed us too upgrade the bottle of wine. Dessert was beyond delightful. Love, love, love this place and so happy to have a new location on Broadway!! Superior customer service too.
Love this new location and menu. I tell all my friends what a great addition this is to the city. Delicious entrees, salads, desserts, yummy beverages along with wines and beers ....... and you can eat there inside or out on the patio-- or pick it up and go on home.
Just amazing! The fresh fast concept at its finest!
I took my daughter -in-law for lunch. Since the temp was so hot, we just had sandwiches. I had their special, Turkey and bacon with avocado. My daughter in law had tuna salad with avocado, she liked hers also. We also tried the sides, grilled veggie and fruit cup, very good. We will be back for the brick oven pizza!!
I really enjoyed Sellands Market Cafe! They have a fabulous menu with lots to choose from. The manager was kind enough to give me some good suggestions too since it was my first visit. The entire staff there were incredibly friendly and helpful. I ordered the Super Greens Salad and added chicken. So healthy and delicious. And their Carrot Cake was a must! Since I was heading back home on a plane that evening, I opted to get their Green Goddess Chicken and Quinoa & Kale Salad to take with me for a healthy dinner. They both were home runs! I definitely will be back next time I’m in Sacramento! Great place all around!!!
I had a nice lunch with my daughter on the holiday. I ordered the crab poor boy sandwich with aiola dressing along with a classic Cesar salad. My daughter had the Margarita pizza which was large enough to serve two. The food is consistently excellent and the staff is knowledgeable and helpful. Selland's Market Cafe has become one of my favorite lunch spots.
Had a good lunch of salmon (lemon something), mashed potatoes & a wedge type romaine salad. Got a top hat cupcake to go. The food was excellent & hot enough to eat. I ate the salad last because the salmon was too good to wait. The cupcake was awesome!! There was a chocolate covered fluffy mallow on top of a chocolate cupcake... oh yummy!! I would definitely recommend this place and go back!!
Great place to eat!
Great food! Reasonably priced and close to our home in Land Park. Excellent pizzas and our son loves the Mac n cheese. What more can you ask for?
Enjoyed our first time! Food was delicious. Staff was friendly and helpful. It was a tiny bit confusing when you first walk in but all in all.... We will be back
Delicious food, kind and knowledgeable staff, with a clean style.
The shepherds pie and crab cake poboy were both exceptional, the beer selection was good, and we couldn’t leave without taking some German chocolate cake.
Broadway has need a place like this for years, good clean healthy food. It has everything you could want in a restaurant.
Beautiful location! All those full grown olive trees must have cost a fortune. The food was just like OBO on Alhambra. I'll be a regular for sure.
A TOUCH OF CLASS! First time visiting this work of art during my lunch hour. Know the owner very well as he is one our VIP clients at my work. Excellent food and never disappointed in any of their restaurants. We will be back! Nice job!
Wonderful food. Great choices. Well prepared and simply presented. Wine and beer selections unparalleled by any other Sacramento venue.
The staff are professional beyond compare and are unobtrusive - letting us sit and chat in molested or hurried.
It's so great to have such a wonderful location to both share sellands with those who may not know the gem & all that wonderful parking.
The walled patio is going to be ideal for outdoor dining in the fall and spring. The patio seating was preferred for my visit because it was simply impossible to have a conversation above the noise level inside. The patio was great for the many shady spots offered by umbrellas. The walls prevented air circulation and thus it was a little too hot on the 90 degree day...maybe we will see misters or fans soon?
The food here is always amazing! My friend and I had the 2 for 25 special Chicken Tights with Vegetable Ragout. The only bad part was when we got to the middle (between the joints) of the chicken it was still red so we had to eat around it....
The cafe is clean and well organized. The employees are knowledgeable and helpful. I didn't like the tuna sandwich that I ordered because it's dry, I was expecting more mayo and more relish, in short, lack of flavor, however, the bread is good.
The atmosphere is amazing but the service is kind of slow. The food is also really good.
The French Dip was yummy. Liked that it came with a side of horseradish. Good flavor in the pasta salad. The staff is friendly and helpful. Working the kinks out in the service. I can see where the bottle necks are. Will have to come back and try something else at a different time. Always a good test to see how staff handles the flow pf a crowd.
Our first time there. Went with a group and was impressed with sandwich sizes, the cheesecake and creme brûlée. With a family group, we all enjoyed a taste! Good selections and a full vegetarian menu. We'll be back!
My first time there, but will definitely be back to try more of there menu. I was surprised at the fresh cooked variety of offerings. The dinner for two looks like a pretty good deal.
It's good. Nice ambiance. Very clean. Some of the food is priced very reasonably, some is overpriced. The goat cheese and apple salad is fabulous.
I loved the fools & so did my friend! Delicious. The atmosphere is light & airy & the staff is great. It's quite loud inside & perhaps they can find a wall to hang some baffles to absorb the sound. It was hard to talk & we were right across from each other. Other than that I love this location!
Big open space that is clean and inviting. Hopefully this, along with Bike Dog Brewing Co., will spark a revitalization of this end of Broadway.
This was my first visit. It was very busy. Parking a little challenging, but maybe because it was a warm Thursday night. With our party of eight, we easily found seating inside. We sat and observed how the place operated. It's like a cafeteria setting. Your food is ordered Ala carte. I ordered the crab cake poboy and cucumber salad. The cucumber salad was delicious! The crab poboy wasn't my favorite. I expected a little more crunch. The crab cake a little soggy for my liking and I didn't care much for how it was seasoned. I shouldn't have had it, but I'm glad I had the "high hat " chocolate dessert-----yummy! The staff was super friendly and professional, even while dealing with our lack of decision making. Family friendly, kid friendly. Clean restaurant, clean bathroom.
I will go back again. I'll just try some new dish next time. If that "highhat" dessert is there, it will be calling my name.
I'm so happy to see a restaurant in that part of town. I wish them the best success.
The food was great as usual confused the order ordered two salads when we got to the register yet and put the two salads down ordered mashed potatoes without gravy got them with gravy but it's new and they're just getting organized Sellands market always does a great job
Great service, love the atmosphere, but please do not order pepperoni pizza, my daughter, husband and myself ate it yesterday and we being all night vomiting and with stomach ache
First, I have to say that the food was really good. A bit over priced for what you get. We spent $44 and still left hungry. I had the slow roasted chuck roast (about 4 oz), small mac & cheese and my spouse had the tenderloin (again about 4oz) and small beat salad. Spouse had a glass of wine and I had water. Very noisy cafe setting (I expected that, after all it is a cafe) and very busy. Not enough staff to keep up with the crowd and had to sit at a dirty table to eat. Over all, for the price and service, I don't think it's really worth it but as I said before, the food is good. I might go back and try it again just to try and be fair.
This was our first time at this restaurant. We waited about 20 minutes for our food after ordering. My mother and I were not impressed to say the least. I ordered meatloaf, a side of broccoli and au gratin potatoes. My side dishes were so small for $3.75 each. I have been to other food chain restaurants and they give larger portions at a cheaper price. My mother ordered a half sandwich and half salad meal. The hostess said her salad came with onions, but when the salad arrived, no onions were to be found. She asked someone behind the counter for the onions and extra dressing and both servers gave her an attitude as if they didn't want to grab the item. I also hated the fact that I had to stand back in line to ask for extra ice for my ice tea. We will not be returning or recommending anyone unless we are contacted by management for this review.
The food was good, however, they failed to bring my dinner along with the rest of the family's dinner. I ordered the BBQ brisket but it took very long for them to bring it to our table. The family's dinner was getting cold so I told them to start without me. I asked 3 different service people where my dinner was, and they all just said "it is coming." The family had finished their dinner and my brisket still had not come so I went and just told the waiter to put my dinner in a to go box because the family had already finished. Very disappointed. Giving a fair 2 star because the food was good.
Underwhelming food, in a fancy cafeteria, with an unorganized checkout system. Good luck with parking. Don’t waste your money.
