As always brueggers does a good bagle! Always fast, but not always neat, and sometimes less than stellar end result. It's not the not the norm but common enough, and the interior dining area could use some work (carpet replacement).
I have had good experiences at Bruegger's in the past, but today the employee serving me was extremely rude. When I walked in he was sitting on the counter with his back facing the customers playing a game on his his phone. He knew I was there, but continued to play his game for the better part of three minutes. I ordered a drink with my bottomless key tag. I am 13, but look much younger, and the server then asked me if the key tag was my moms or my dads. I responded saying it was mine. He then said "your parents bought you a $200 key tag?" He said it as if he doubted I was telling the truth. I said I got it for my birthday. He said "that's nice. But you have to be 18 to have a key tag. I took my drink and left before he said anything else. I looked up whether you have to be 18 and there is no evidence anywhere that says I may not own a key tag. I bought the key tag from the manager, and I have been to brueggers many times without anyone telling me I am too young to use my key tag. This man was in general rude especially considering my age. Also since this is a review of Bruegger's I will say that the service is usually very quick and the food is very good. The hot coffee is not usually good, but the iced coffee is great. Bruegger's is pretty clean except for the table where the milk, sugar, and straws are. There are usually lots of flies around the milk and the flies occasionally get into the coffee. If not for today's employee I would've given the Delmar Bruegger's 4 stars.
Just had the worst experience ever! We typically don't go to Bruegger's because as much as we like the food... the coffee is always awful. We were in the mood for some breakfast sandwiches so we dealt with the horrible coffee today. My bagel is fine, but they left out the egg on my husbands pastrami egg and Swiss sandwich. The girl who made my sandwich was obviously pissed when I asked her to please take off the capers. She was rude after that. The cashier badgered us to ring us up even when we continued to tell her we were still ordered. She was extremely nasty. She then gave us two cups with ice over flowing out of them, poured a little coffee in them, and called it iced coffee. I'm so upset about how rude the staff was, but also that the place is expensive... and they left out parts of our order!
Sunday Morning 6/11/17 at 9:20 am: Very poorly organized, few bagel selections, out of several types of coffee, staff appeared to be harried and snippy with each other and even with a few customers. Telling customers "we're short staffed" (seems inappropriate). Usually they are better, I assume new staffing...?
Fast service but not always clean. Last visit lots of fruit flies.
Great local NY-style bagels and beverages. These are the traditional bagels that I remember. Good team at work at this location.
Average, run of the mill bagels and service. Nothing exceptional here... Lines are long and slow. Management skills are lacking.
Very good, fresh bagels and quick service. Great place to stop by on the way to work.
Just paid $5.89 for a blt with one slice of bacon. I mentioned it's sparseness to the girl behind the counter. She added another slice of lettuce. Again fantastic service from breuggers. We are frequent customers, and every week there is something out if stock, or poorly made. I wish there was a local bagel place in Delmar. I would much rather give my money to them. It is no wonder that this place is in chapter 11.
Bagels are good for a chain. Yes this place gets busy and lines are expected on the weekend but there really isn't another bagel shop in Delmar.
