Food is good and service pleasant enough IF you can manage to get there during their very limited hours of operation. They are supposed to be open until 4 pm. It used to be, like most restaurants, they would seat you up to 4 pm and take your order. Then one day I showed up at 3:30 and they said the kitchen just closed. Just now I caled them as I was literally 2 minutes from them and the clock said 3:29. I explained I was 2 minutes away--around the corner. Could I possibly be seated? Woman who answered the phone sharply replied, "No! The kitchen is closed so we can close at 4 pm!" I am going to seriously reconsider going back there. There are many other fine establishments in Warwick to eat that won't turn away customers. I was only asking for forgiveness for maybe 2 or 3 minutes. So long, Charlotte!
This place is so cute. Had my daughter's bridal shower here as she wanted a proper English Tea and she got exactly that.
I've been here at least 3 times so far and each time I loved it. It's probably one of my favorite places in Warwick. It's an adorable tea place. Tea is wonderful, all the finger foods are delicious and I cannot get over their scones that come with the cutest heart shaped butter. Adorable. The decor and plates are amazing as well. Makes me feel all fancy.
My husband and I found this place years ago but haven't been back since they changed locations. We were recently in Warwick so we had to have lunch here, now located in a beautiful Victorian home, and we couldn't have been more delighted. The staff was delightful and attentive as ever and made us feel so welcome. You may not think that two large vets would fit in at a tea room but this isn't your everyday place. Will be back
This is such an adorable little tea house with beautiful accessories, but unfortunately it didn't live up to my expectations. The service was slow, absent, and even rude at times. The scones were very dry and missing the traditional jam and clotted cream. The tea sandwiches had a nice flavor but there was hardly enough filling to cover the bread. As for the tea itself, you were lucky if you had enough to fill 2 cups. Instead of fresh tea leaves, you could see the bags coming out of the pots. Very disappointing for a tea house. I needed to ask (several times) for a glass of water or a refill of tea. For the amount of money we paid, including a 20%service fee, I left hungry and disappointed. Overall, with better management and staffing, I think Charlotte's could be a wonderful spot. Until then I will not be returning nor will I recommend it to anyone.
I recently went here for a bridal shower. The service was terrible. I literally had to wait at the kitchen door to ask for a glass of water. They were so chintzy with the food, especially for what it costs per person. And one more thing...there was a constant line at the bathroom because there is only one bathroom (which does not have a changing table 😤). We had a great time, but it was because of the company we were with, not the food, the tea, or the service.
I only give reviews when something or some place is either REALLY good or REALLY bad and to my disappointment, this experience was really bad. If I could give Charlotte's Tea Room Negative 5 stars, I would.
I went here with my daughters and friends for a girl's day and tea party. I/we were so excited and then it turned to disappointment. The service was terrible. We had to search for a server and ASK for everything. We had to ask for water and then ask for refills, everyone in our party had to choose either lemonade or iced tea; meaning, we either ALL got iced tea OR we ALL got lemonade. I clarified with the server that the lemonade was a mix, not fresh squeezed, so I'm not sure what the issue was with each having a choice. The hot tea was made with tea bags (far from what I expected in a "tea house"). We had mediocre scones, tea sandwiches with barely enough salad on the bread to give it flavor, and then dessert came out... I have been to plenty of functions to recognize the assortment of desserts from Sam's Club or BJ's. It did seem as though they baked the cookies because they were warm, but based on the size, shape, and appearance of them, they were slice and bake. When the bill came, our jaws hit the floor. We were charged 20% gratuity and our food was WAY over priced. I asked to see the owner and/or manager. I have never complained about a dining experience, but everyone in our party agreed, we couldn't let it go. I was met with opposition, attitude, and more disappointment! We received no excuse, forget about apology! Never in my life have I experienced horrible customer service in an establishment built on customer service. I will never go back and certainly would absolutely not recommend this place!
Quaint little restaurant that offers great tea, sandwiches and the dessert's are delicious
We had a fantastic time at Charlotte's Tea Room. The place had a very tasteful and romantic decoration, I absolutely loved how all the rooms had a theme. The tea selection was wonderful and the cucumber sandwich was one of the best I've ever had. I highly recommend this place for lunch or even high tea.
Perfect tea garden style. We really love going with the whole family and on dates.
Quaint rooms, pleasant decor, the staff were very attentive and warm.....
The food was very disappointing both times I was there. ( Only went the second time because I was invited).
When lunching at a " Tea Room" you would think the " Tea" would be vast in options and ofcourse should be loose, not in a bag.
When I open the sugar bowl I expected to find raw sugar crystals or at the very least little sugar cubes, but no, instead little packets of sugar and packets of artificial sweetener that you would find at a Diner.
The Panini and desserts were just "ok" not made with the ingredients, or done with the flair you'd expect to find in a Tea Room in Warwick.
If you're looking for a nice place to have a decent lunch, this place is fine, but if you are expecting to have a real Tea Room experience you might be disappointed.
