Cheryl's is the first place I went to for brunch when I moved to Prospect Heights. A great space and excellent service. The menu from brunch to dinner has something for everyone. A very neighborhood vibe.

I absolutely love the look of this place. As a filmmaker, I've always envisioned shooting a scene in this restaurant. Oh yeah, and the food is great!

This restaurant appears to have an uneven policy of asking for id. I was asked for id on a $30 brunch bill. I'm not sure why and I found it quite by a short brown haired hostess which I found odd.
I provided the id but decided to wait to see who else was asked for id. I waited until 3 or 4 patrons (all white ) paid their bill. None of them were asked for id.As a Black person this is the last restaurant I would think would treat me unfairly. But buyer beware. The food was ok, the service uninspired at best. But this uneven application of id policy merits no stars if it was possible.

This restaurant is small and very quite. My lunch companion pointed out to me that the restaurant has a very unique but refreshing decor. The hostess greeted us immediately and we were seated in like five minutes. The food was affordable and very delicious . During my first visit I had breakfast like eggs ,toast, bacon and orange juice. Last night I had the grilled jerk wings with scotch bonnet pepper sauce on the side, grilled salmon with mash potatoes and string beans , and fried catfish , macaroni and cheese and spinach . The food was filling , and I felt very light afterwards. My date and I were super satisfied with our meals. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for a delicious meal, and likes comfy cozy restaurants.

Fantastic place! The food was awesome and delicious! Service was great. The back patio was magical. Great prices too.

The host was the best part of the visit, friendly and helpful when we came in and when we left. The food was less than average. The two hot dishes were served cold and they were both flavorless. They didn't taste bad, they just didn't have any taste at all. The wait staff was dismissive. She took a long time to get to our table, didn't say hello or give any other kind of greeting, didn't make eye contact, and once she took our order, she didn't come back to the table to see how everything was or to fill the empty water glasses. We actually had to get up from the table to find and ask her to bring out check.

I hate writing bad reviews but I need to do it this time. The experience I had was terrible! I got to the restaurant and although got seated fast the waiter took forever to bring menus and then 20 more minutes to take our order. Drinks were also delayed and it was after 1.5 hours we finally got our cold food. Food was average and not worth the wait. We ask our waiter several questions and we were either ignored or treated rudely. Not sure what was the problem but I didn't like the service at all. At the end had to ask for the management (which Ive never done before) he listened and work with us to try to make our experience less terrible. I will never go back here and will NOT recommend it! Stay away and don't ruin your day here!

This is a nice cozy place to eat. It attracts the local area artists and young workers from the neighborhood library, museum and botanical garden. Aside from someone else's lip prints on my water glass. The service is on point. The bar maid was very accommodating which made up for any earlier oopsies. The burger is big and the fries were well prepared. Yummy. The owner sat nearby to enjoy pancakes. She's a real boss lady and her style of music playing on the over head is refreshing. The ceiling decor reminds me of some sort of ship, but not. The entrance is heavily draped. The place is different... that's a good thing.

Neighborhood but upbeat. Interesting staff. Decent food. Customers treated well. Wish there was a grilled vegetarian meal.

Best atmosphere ever, plus delicious food. Such a happy place.
