Great atmosphere, lovely staff, great place all around. Lots of drink options, good sandwiches, etc.
Great stop but lacks atmosphere. The place has gone downhill with the removal of couches and comfy chairs in the main room. The building is perfect but the inside needs some TLC. It used to be nicer in the past, but is now in need of desperate modernizations. The whole credit card minimums is also not a good idea in today's plastic economy. If you can't bite the bullet for the fees then you have no business even being open today. Gotta get with the times folks. Remodel for The love of all gayness in the world. It's embarassing to have this dump be a landmark. Fix it up and it will be perfect! Modernize!
This is a great place to chill or have a nice conversation. They have coffee or tea. There are board games and Wi-Fi. Visit and see for yourself. Kids are Welcome. Casual dress.
Best local beans in Rochester. Super cozy inside with so much to do to keep you busy. Anything from a huge selection of ice cream, board games, and amazingggg apparel with their "E = G" logo. Also Tyler, Jenn and the entire staff are super friendly. There's simply no better café experience than Equal Grounds.
Has a nice broad range of coffee/tea/specialty drinks, snacks, and a few food items. Open and accepting atmosphere. Books to borrow or buy, board games to play. Must buy something in order to get Wi-Fi password, which changes daily I think.
Always a pleasure, drinks were nice and food was fresh. I love this place and will continue to come back.
Great place to study, have a coffee break and a safe space for the LGBT community. Note, I do not attend school for a number of reasons, so I got my opinion on studying based on other people and the environment. However if you are autistic like me, I do not recommend the clubs that come here, like Genesee Valley Gender Variants, the population generally doesn't understand autism but obviously understand if you are transgender or non-binary. If you have very mild autism like aspergers, then you will generally fit in. Overall, great atmosphere and a quiet place to study.
A truly welcoming, comfortable and great coffee place. Wide selection of hot & cold coffee and tea drinks along with bakery and breakfast/lunch offerings. Located in two turn of the century storefronts, it is roomy and comfortable. A pulse is the local art displayed on the walls along with Equal Grounds and LGBTQ merchandise. Equal Grounds has been a staple in the South Wedge neighborhood for many years which is a testament to it's wonderful coffee, food and service as well as the great atmosphere.
Nice little place. Sad that he has to be so strict on the WiFi password. Not his fault at all. Stop being cheep people get a cup of coffee! :-) made a good latte and offered 3 sized. Nice touch.
Cozy eclectic coffee shop that's iconic in the neighborhood and welcoming to all. Friendly service, plenty of seating, table top games, and bakery/food options- this is an excellent place to hang out with your friends for the afternoon and have deep conversations. Equal grounds honors and celebrates the diversity and wonderful weirdness of the South Wedge.
One of my favorite places. During the day it's the best environment to get work done and a great social scene at night. They serve fair trade coffee from Coffee Connection so you can feel good about where your money goes.
Cozy place. Awesome coffee and food. Great place to hang out and chat.
Equal Grounds isn't just a place to grab a coffee or work on homework - it's a community meeting place and living room. I've never seen another place quite like it. Cozy, friendly, fun, and unpretentious, it's a great place to make friends and just to hang out.
Queer friendly coffee place. WiFi password with purchase. If I recall correctly 4$ card minimum. Coffee brewed deliciously and very good baked goods available
