4 stars for the view. But 3 for the price. Paid less for a tour at niagara. It is pretty though. Did not eat here, can only assume it's overpriced as well.
It’s Beautiful here in the Fall. I loved the trail and the amazing waterfall. However it’s a little pricey & the glass floors are only big enough for one to two people to be in them and they were SUPER foggy/dirty so you could barely see under them.
The walk around the falls and the additional nature trail were both very nice, relaxing, and beautiful.
These are hardly the most impressive set of falls you can find, but it is a very accessible walk - just a few steep staircases required to get the best views, and there is an “easy” path with no stairs that still affords a nice view from the bridge.
The “nature trail” is a bonus, approximately 1 mile through the woods. Nothing in particular to see, but a good intermediate-effort trip (uneven ground, a few steeper slopes).
If I had a complaint: maybe the admissions is a bit high, given that the primary “attraction” is the falls and takes less than 30 minutes to see. If you add in the woods hike, it becomes much more reasonable.
Way to expensive for a family 2 adult and 3 kids, they wanted more than 50$ and with the CA dollar trade it make more than 70$CA for Canadians. Kids where disappointed buy most family on budget cannot affort these expensive activities. That is a reson we do camping, eat homemade salads and do low cost outdoor sport. Very sad.
A bit pricey but a lovely spot to visit nevertheless. We spent about 2 hours gazing at the beautiful water rushing down the gorge and exploring the trails. We loved being the first guests of the day (we got there at 9am) and having the place to ourselves. We even spotted an otter pup! All around good visit.
Beautiful falls. In summer everything is very green. The roar of the water is pretty tremendous. A little pricey though at over $12/adult.
I wish I could give this more than 5 stars! We decided to stop here for lunch after visiting Whiteface. The food that The River View Cafe was amazing! The trout sandwich and chips was perfect. The special that day was a buffalo chicken wrap, which was delicious! The gift shop was adorable and had a little bit of everything. The views from the waterfall walk are gorgeous!
Kids oriented place. Water falls gorge with bridges and board walks along the gorge ridges . A small hilly loop trail that anyone can do it. Great collection in stores. Has a restaurant. Staff can sometime be rude especially during weekends. Noticed sign of help needed and there were only 2 staff members at cashier during our weekend trip in fall. Huge crowd with lots of kids in line seems like what overwhelmed them. Can't blame them. Otherwise, a recommended place for family if you are vacationing in Lake placid .
Stopped on a whim. So glad we did. Friendly and skilled server. Great sandwich on sunflower bread, with a hearty onion soup on the side. Fabulous views of ADK fall colors and a great little walk trail along the river. Take the time to stop here!
I see people whining about the price...$11 bucks a person was well worth the price. Yes, it is only a 1/2 mile round trip hike/walk to view the multiple tiers of this falls, but that money goes to the upkeep of these wonderfully maintained paths and bridges. We drove from Lake George (90 mins away) for something to do, and we were not disappointed. Hearing the roar of the water as it passes under you, was the best. I will definitely return in the early spring to view, when it is all ice or melting snows bring the deafening sounds.
What a great walk we had today at the High Falls Gorge. I have a recently fractured foot and I was able to tour the Gorge. The walkways are very accessible and safe. We were impressed with the maintenance and beauty of the new fencing. We stopped several times to enjoy the view utilizing the adirondack chairs and benches. Staff was friendly. We did not eat at the little restaurant. Cute gift shop.
