Rochester has become a great coffee city with several good shops and roasters. Joe Bean is my favorite. Always great coffee and wonderful baristas who share their love of what they do. I'm on my way there now!

Joe bean was my first real third wave coffee place. To say that my frail coffee mind was blown to the a fine grind would be putting it lightly. Their roasting is truly artisan. Their brew methods are exact. Their baristas are friendly and skilled. And their coffee bar is wicked cool. Arguably the best coffee shop in all of New York state.

I love this place. I've visited twice and both times, I felt comfortable and satisfied with the service and the music. The guys have exceptional customer service AND people skills. They made me feel like we were old friends. I enjoyed the smooth Jazz. The first time there, Jimmy Highsmith performed. Jimmy has the best drummer ever, Bruce Pitts. The second time was a bassist band, which surprisingly to me, was awesome. Also, the cheese grill is amazing. I will visit again....soon.

Great new food menu. Nitro cold brewed coffee is perfect for the summer. Great local musicians on a regular basis. Friendly staff. Great atmosphere.

Best coffee in Rochester! The staff is friendly, personable, and VERY knowledgeable about coffee. I took a class that was fun to learn about different origins of coffee. I was surprised at how different they tasted. Great place for a bite to eat. Thanks to the helpful staff for helping us pick out coffee equipment for home. Of coarse we got Joe Bean coffee for home. It's the best! A+

Here by myself and feeling very comfortable at a seat near the band but secluded, able to read a book while sipping my drink, and love the ambiance. Tacos could be better (I'm from Tucson) but otherwise perfect!

My husband and I went to listen to the jazz. It was excellent! I have always loved their coffee and the atmosphere. Last night we tried one of the featured beers. Very nice!

The most pretentious cafe I have seen after having lived in two continents. The service is pathetically slow and aloof. No place in Italy or France I have visited takes as long to make an espresso. It is an espresso, for heaven's sake. Are you collecting and drying beans in the meantime? Much rather recommend to Fuego.

I love the place but was disappointed in the ground coffee I bought for home for my French press. It was very weak and expensive and looked like tea

Went there a couple of weeks ago and ordered 2 rounds of coffee products (2 iced lattes, chemex), then decided to order the seasonal tray. I'm pregnant with food aversions and didn't feel like eating the oyster mushrooms so I asked if they'd just substitute the mushrooms with a second serving of one of the other items on the tray- hummus or garlic-- he flat out refused, with no explanation why.



They really love themselves at Joe Bean. If you don't love them exactly how they want you to, expect them to turn up their noses at you.
