About Signs Of Life
Books, Art, Coffee . . . there ARE Signs of Life in downtown Lawrence!
Signs Of Life Description
Signs of Life is a bookstore, art gallery, and espresso bar all rolled into a big wonderful place whose purpose is to be a blessing to the community. We opened our doors in March of 2003 with the intent to be a place where people could find good books, not just any old book, but books worth owning, thoughtful books, books that tackle big ideas. And not just books, but fine art too! Our professional sales gallery represents artists who want to present beautiful images - work that grapples with the mystery of life and finds reason for hope.
Once you’ve engaged our books and art, you’ll need a place to sit down and discuss them. Our espresso bar is the perfect place! You can get all your favorite coffee and tea drinks, juices, soda, bakery goods, chocolate (mmmm! ), and even kettle corn. It’s a calm and inviting atmosphere - you won’t find friendlier baristi anywhere. And you'll frequently find great live music for free.

The coffee at Signs Of Life left much to be desired. It lacked flavor, and the service was slow. I won't be returning.
I stumbled upon Signs Of Life while wandering around 722 Massachusetts St, Lawrence, Kansas 66044, and what a delightful discovery! The rustic charm of the interior paired with the rich aroma of freshly ground coffee beans was an instant mood lifter. The barista recommended their house blend, and it was a smooth, flavorful journey in a cup. The only downside was the slightly cramped seating, but with coffee this good, I'm willing to overlook it.,Signs Of Life,722 Massachusetts St, Lawrence, Kansas 66044
