We had friends in town visiting, so we went there for brunch. It’s a more limited menu at this location than what is posted online, so just be aware of that.
We found this place by accident, the food and service has been wonderful with every visit.
We love going for breakfast, the peppered bacon is awesome.
The Walnut never disappoints food and service always on point no matter how busy it is
Probably the best breakfast I've ever had at a restaurant. The home fries were perfect and the lobster benedict was delicious. Service was great and the atmosphere was nice.
I loved this place. I visited from Chicago. Had breakfast with my family. Clean and beautiful!! Awesome food!! I had the fajita steak omelette and fresh squeeze orange juice. Omg!! So good and well seasoned. Definitely a great place to go. I will go again on my next visit to Texas.
I live nearby and when I get the chance to choose where to go for lunch, Black Walnut comes to my mind first. I've never been disappointed and everything is wonderful!
Have I traveled the entire general aviation world? No, but I have been a lot of places and this is the best on-airport restaurant I have experienced.
Food and service was DELICIOUS/ 5 star! Shawn made us feel so welcome and so did all the guests in the restaurant. Always afraid to bring my kids to eat but this place is heaven on earth for all of us! Planes and wine Yes please!
Always enjoy the woodlands location, finally got to this one. Same great food but terrific view of the airport. Had fun getting to eat and watch airplanes come and go while doing so
Absolutely love this airy setting overlooking Montgomery County Airport runways. Atmosphere, excellent food fare, and plenty of room to dine in comfort and ease. Also, includes an outdoor patio area.
Very good food at a pretty decent price. Will be my new brunch spot.
My kids fell in love with the view from the patio. It was a great Mother's day brunch for me and we will definitely be back. Food was Ahh-mazing!
Attended a luncheon in private dining area. Food was tasty however the lost star in rating was due to guests having to wait for more food. It was a party of 38 and they should have had sufficient food to replenish immediately not 20-25 minutes after we advised needed more -
After voicing my dissatisfaction with a recent trip to the Conroe Black Walnut location I was contacted and the management went out of their way to rectify the situation. I’ve visited twice since and they seem to have made great improvements in their processes and the good is as great as it always is.
We went for brunch after church - it was the perfect day for sitting outside so our granddaughter could watch the planes. We got there just before the big rush arrived, so our wait time wasn't bad. My husband said his omelette was excellent & my son loved his eggs Benedict. We ordered scrambled eggs with cheese for our granddaughter & they were perfect. My daughter-in-law & I both ordered mimosas. They were excellent. However, her tomato soup was extremely running & mostly water - you could basically see through it when picking a spoonful up. And the lobster on my lobster Benedict was rubbery & hard in spots. It was definitely not fresh & had been microwaved too long. I won't order either of those again.
Took forever to get someone to take our order (the girl was stocking the bar glasses), then waited 22 minutes to get a burger and a salad. Burger was cold and over cooked, but still tasted good, go figure.
Brought the wait time to the manager's attention, and he replied that they were "running over 20 minutes aright now for all orders."
Not impressed with what is used to be a well run restaurant.
The staff was extremely nice! The food was overpriced for the quality of my breakfast. I like how it's set up and everything ran super smooth. The snickers pie was delicious! The French toast wasn't that great. The bacon was good but overcooked and the portion of homefries was laughable. They gave me a bite of home fries 😂. But the booths and patio were very nice and the view of the airport was awesome! I'd go back...but not for real French toast. Lol ohhh but the mimosas were probably the best ones I've ever had.
My husband wanted to take me out to eat, but to a place we haven't been to. He remember hearing about the Black Walnut Cafe' so he googled it and took me there this past Sunday. We got there before the rush so we didn't have to stand in any line. It took us a few mins to look over the menu to decide on what we wanted. We started with the fried raviolis as an appetizer. They were good, but you can tell they are frozen. My husband ordered a hamburger that had a kick to it, but he really enjoyed it. I ordered the steak (requested it to be cooked medium) and it came with steamed broccoli and mash potatoes. We also ordered a beer, water and coconut cheesecake . When I got my "10 oz" med steak I could immediately tell by sight alone it was well done. I cut off a little piece and it was like chewing on a piece of beef jerky and had to remove it from my mouth. I took it to the counter and asked for a manager. He was very pleasant, professional and apologetic and asked if I would like another steak or something else and that lunch was on him. I requested another steak. He personally brought it out to me and asked if it looked better. I cut into it and although it was more like a med-well steak, it was edible. By the time I got my food, my husband was already done with his meal. The steak was very bland and had to add pepper, salt and A-1 sauce (a good $20 steak should never have to have an condiments added). The steak was very thin and not sure if it was even 10oz. I had 4 bites of broccoli and a lump of mash potatoes. All which was very bland. Now the coconut cheesecake was amazing and more enjoyable. The atmosphere and indoor/outdoor dining area were very inviting. Wasn't to keen on having to get up for refills on our drinks and don't understand why on the receipt there in a option for a tip (which we added a $6 tip), not sure who that even goes to, since there is absolutely no kind of service??? The prices are a little pricey, which I don't mind paying as long as I'm receiving good, fresh quality food. The manager did however comp our complete bill of over $50, which was not necessary, but appreciated. Thank you
I absolutely love this place clean, great atmosphere, not to mention the food is great!! Great date place!! Great place to have a family get together or birthday too!!
