Today's visit was awwwsome. As was every visit from the mid 80s on. Vanessa was incredibly great at what she does and very welcoming. I miss the old man sitting there, behind the register, but the chorizo con papas tasted like it did in '86. Try and get by on a week day morning, else you'll find people sometimes lined up around the corner. Enjoy.

Some of the BEST homemade food I have had in a long time! The fideo, puffy taco and TORTILLAS were the Best!

Will definitely go back when I’m back in San Antonio, Great service too!

I’ve been coming here for over 30 years. Service is quick and food is ALWAYS perfect and fresh. Being from San Antonio all my life, I’m particular about my food and also a critic. This place never disappoints.

Great food and a great location! It was my place for breakfast every Saturday morning!

Great ambience, good food, always fresh and hot. The staff is always super friendly, even during the busiest of hours. Been coming here for many years and I love it. I highly recommend this place whether it's for breakfast, lunch or both.

Being from Dallas we always look forward to the great food the mom and pop restaurants offer and this place was really good, the Fideo Loco with Carna guisada was great, fresh homemade tortillas(but what else do you expect in San Antonio). Very fast and courteous service, I mean fast we had just ordered and then poof our food was on the table. Look forward to returning again and again

As always food was delicious and service was great. It's the only place I go to for my breakfast fix when I don't want to cook. For the past oh idk 15 years it's been my place of choice.

As usual, food is delicious, tortillas are the BEST, service is great and the staff is outstanding. I will definitely visit again and highly recommend to family and friends!

I went for the first time ever. I had heard so many people talking about how good it was.

It's was crowded being that it was the Saturday lunch crowd. I sat at the counter. It was awkward because the stools were situated somewhat lower than the counter. It came up to my chest. I felt like a little kid at the table. I wanted to try the "famous" enchiladas. Every review I read raved about them.

In my opinion they were good, but I've had better. When I first tasted the sauce it reminded me of Enchilada Day in High School. They were good as were the beans and rice. The tortillas were a little thick and tough. Even though from where I was sitting I could see the lady making them. So it wasn't that they weren't fresh. Just in the way they made them. Again I've had better. Overall I gave them 3 stars for good tasting food.

Food was good but the service was a bit lacking

First time there, also had heard of famous enchiladas. Crowded, Sunday after church, got a table quick, had good service. Chicken enchiladas good, sauce lacked in spice, plenty of meat though, rice bland, beans ok...menudo also ordered, chunks of tripe to big, lack in spice/taste again...prices were comparable to other places. Was hot, but i guess because of so many people. It's a SA traditional, not downing it, i would try again, mayb order different item..

San Antonio's well known and proud of their delicious Mexican food fare, and with so many family owned restaurants to choose from, we always choose to have our breakfast here at Blanco Cafe. With yesterday morning's breakfast visit, we were quite disappointed in the customer service we received, indeed it was busy, but no more than usual. The tortillas as they were cooling, took on a hard to bite and chew texture, order was wrong and the country sausage salsa 'COLD,' and when asked to correct the order the waitress took on a haughty and sarcastic tone, quote unquote, "Is there anything else?" Observation: wait staff's 'customer service satisfaction' not their #1 motto as it once was, beverages not replenished, got up to serve our own coffee, unedible tortillas, though my personal order of chilaquilles was delicious, (thank God they've been able to keep the cooks), this in itself will not warrant our return visit. There are other restaurants that will graciously welcome us throughout our remaining three week visit to our native city.

The first time we tried this place was amazing! The second time however, was deplorable. We were seated right away and mind you it wasn't as busy as it was the first time we went. We ordered our food and they gave us half of our order and left us waiting for the other half for about 10 mins. Only to receive the wrong order. By the time we got everything, the rest of our food that they initially gave us was cold. Also, the eggs were undercooked (scrambled eggs should not be runny) in our taco. Word to the wise: give the FULL order when everything is ready at once. None of this half ass bs. We just left everything there and walked out.

Food was good, but the service was horrible. They messed up on the order. They also put 5 people to sit at a four person table. After eating here we went out side to find that our truck was broken in to. Eat here if you want good food and your stuff stolen.
