Owner fave. Simple salad, picadillo, avocado, jack cheese w/goat cheese dressing. Dayum. Make your own. It’s healthy and fun.

What a wonderful alternative to traditional Tex-mex fare. Creative healthy twists on otherwise typical recipes, a warm environment, friendly and helpful wait staff who ensure every detail is attended to. Gluten free and vegan options, Eldorado Cafe is deeply rooted in the community and a pleasant and welcome addition. Be prepared for a 15-30 minute wait, as the locals keep the dining room full. Exquisite cocktails that like the rest of the menu kick everything up a notch. Go. It’s worth it, and you’ll be back for more.

Visiting Austin my son wanted to take me to some of his favorite spots! This was definitely a great craving settling spot for this Ohio girl! I loved the food , had a hard choice and than wanted my neighbors too! The atmosphere made me understand why it would be not only his favorite but a full restaurant with what you can tell are return patrons.

This place is on the top of our list of best places to have a great authentic meal. I had the Joels Favorite Enchiladas and it was some of the best I have had. The margaritas were incredible for $5 happy hour price. I highly recommend saving room for sopailla cheesecake. Its fabulous. A hidden gem in North Austin. Well worth the drive!

The food is fantastic and the atmosphere is great. It was a great place to enjoy conversation with friends and enjoy time with my friends. The enchiladas were fabulous and all the different salsas were all so different and all very excellent. I look forward to visiting again next time I'm in town.

The breakfast tacos blew me away! And that's extremely hard to do in a place like Austin, Texas where the market is saturated with top notch taco places. The variety of salsa options were all absolutely delicious as well. Can't wait to try more of their menu!

The atmosphere was great. Loved all the colors on the walls and the music. Staff was great and of course the food was too! The food is really cheap for the amount and quality of it. Overall an awesome experience. It will definitely be a regular spot for me in the future.

Super cute place, amazingly friendly staff, and everything is delicious. Highly recommend the Gloria’s Chilaquiles with a Michelada! Yum!!!

So freaking yummy! Get the watermelon marg with a plate of mashed potato enchiladas and then see if your eyes don't roll to the back of your head. Next-level comfort food, attentive staff, and a neighborhood atmosphere are right up my alley!

Referred by friends and just had brunch there. I had the Big Papas and migas tacos. My wife had order envy. Seriously though, she had two other breakfast tacos that were slap your face good. Great margaritas. Highly recommend the Tamarindo!! Jammed to some Tribe Called Quest while waiting for a table. Great service at the bar and our table. Joel the owner stopped by to visit. Cool dude and great joint. Look forward to going back soon!

Never have anything negative to say about Eldorado Cafe! Their service and menu are head and shoulders above the rest. Everything seems intentionally thought out and well executed.

My only suggestion would be to expand the restaurant space. It’s always super packed, which is, of course, not a bad problem to have.

My mom insisted I make the 45 minute drive to try the tostadas here. It was worth every mile! The staff was ubër friendly with the all the Austin charm you can hope for! The owner greeted every table as if you were visiting his home. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, I have two very picky younger children who are everything on their plates, even after consuming chips & salsa!! We definitely will be back.

Joel’s Happy Plate is my happy plate! Joel came out and met my husband and I as we were enjoying our lunch Saturday. Such a cool guy! You could tell he puts his heart and soul into his restaurant. The quality of the food is superb! The wait staff were all first class! Great job! Can’t wait to bring my family when they come in town.

It really doesn't get any better than this wonderful spot in the ATX. From the moment you walk in it feels like home; the food is mouth watering, deliciously unique, and the cocktails are on point!

I love this place like a fat kid loves cake! Incredible food-you can taste how fresh the ingredients are and having a spice option on salsa is unbelievable! I’m a sissie but their mild salsa is so delish I could drink it from a glass. I had the carnitas and my hubby did the flank steak and enchiladas. Both dishes made our eyes roll back in our heads. Yeah, it’s that good. I haven’t found a restaurant that excites me this much in years! Beyond the food, the atmosphere is fun, the staff was exceptional, and the cocktails!!! They make them with fresh juices. I want to have their watermelon margarita every day! I truly can’t wait to go back. El Dorado, thank YOU for being so awesome!

Highly recommend this great neighborhood place! Excellent food & fabulous fresh squeezed juice cocktails. Choice of salsas with your chips. Intersting menu if options and they do breakfast! I had the El Cabo salad and it was divine! well staffed, well run place.

Eldorado Cafe tops my list of favorite dining spots. I feel happy there in all those colors, with all the good staff. Shiny Ribs, Carnitas, Joel’s Happy Plate, those potato cakes...just a few menu favs. I enjoy all the salsas but if I had to pick one it would be SalsaX...so rich with flavor. Vegetables are cooked to perfection here. The Mexican Martini is delicious. The Margaritas - not so good. I sent the first back, the second tasted the same...both just not fresh tasting. Maybe it was a mix? Or just an off night for Rita’s. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Been coming here since the beginning. Amazing food. Get all the salsas. Try the specials. The Tampiqueña. The chalupa. Even something as simple as rajas quesadillas is a joy. Wish I could give ten stars.

Check out this new place tucked in the Northeast corner of Mopac and Anderson Lane in North Austin. Lively place with an interesting menu and well-prepared food. Lots of staff working that seemed to be enjoying their job. Good table service. Several people stopped by to ask if we needed anything and to thank us for coming in. I look forward to returning and also stopping in for breakfast.
