Forthright

About Forthright

Forthright offers simple food, prepared well. There’s a leafy patio and free surface parking.

Forthright Description

Hello there
|
Forthright is a cafe with a leafy patio just south of Cesar Chavez and Brazos; a quiet cul-de-sac by Ladybird Lake where the street ends.
|
We make honest food from scratch, prepared well, using quality ingredients. In the morning we pour Sightglass coffee. At happy hour we stir no-fuss cocktails. Enjoy avocado toast with poached eggs for breakfast, a kale Caesar salad at lunch or slow roasted pork belly for dinner. You know this menu.
|
Tall windows, natural light, sturdy chairs, plenty of shade. . . a place for a read. We’re from here, we felt like downtown Austin deserved something ‘easy’ again.

Overindulging this season? Us too. This Superfood Bowl is the only thing keeping us from feeling guilty about it.

As you know, we had the wrong kind of fire at our restaurant a few weeks ago, but we've been slingin' brunch the past two Sundays at @trinityhallatx , which we'll be doing every Sunday until our restaurant renovation is done. We'd love you to join us. You can make a reservation anytime via our website.

It looks like it’s going to take several more weeks to tidy up the restaurant after our recent fire. In the meantime, we’ve come up with a way to bring you Sunday brunch! While we renovate our restaurant, please join us every Sunday for brunch at Trinity Hall, 311 E 5th St. @ Trinity St.

We are obviously reeling a bit from the fire at our restaurant yesterday. We have already made a lot of progress in getting things in order and back on track to open in the near future. There are a lot of moving parts we still don't have answers to, but it appears that it will take several weeks to re-open. We will keep you updated on any developments. Thank you so much for your patronage, understanding, and encouragement during this time.
