We catered good dough donuts for our wedding and they were amazing!!! They delivered them and set them up for us. All of the guests raved about the donuts the rest of the weekend. I can’t wait to get back to Jacksonville to stop by and have another! Thank you good dough!!
We absolutely love Good Dough! Fantastic gourmet doughnuts and so much more. The menu has sandwiches, local coffee, and even doughnut milkshakes. The staff is amazing and always make us feel at home. I was able to order a doughnut cake for my daughters birthday... it was above and beyond what I imagined! It was a hit at her class bday party. They also have a killer doughnut burger that I am OBSESSED with. I have really loved having this addition to our beautiful neighborhood and can’t wait to see what else they come up with!
Tried Good Dough for the first time this morning. The apple cider glazed old-fashioned cake doughnut is literally the most delicious thing I have ever tasted in my entire life. The brown butter was fantastic, as well. I will never go to Krispy Kreme or Dunkin' Donuts again. This place is where it's at!
Their old fashioned doughnuts are perfect and I love the fruit varieties especially. Their lattes are not overly sweet but have good flavor.
The first thing I would recommend is to read Good Dough's website. Most of the posts on here under 4 stars seem to be people that didn't do their research before going. Prime example, there are several people that posted the doughnuts were too heavy or chewy. If you read the FAQ section of Good Dough's website you will read that their in-house raised yeast doughnuts are more like a brioche and have a soft texture with a little bit of chew. Others posted that they got to Good Dough around 12pm and they had run out of particular doughnuts. On the website it explains that these are small batch doughnuts that take up to 3 hours to make so once they run out they can't simply make a new batch, especially later in the day when they close at 2pm. I'm getting off my soap box now. My wife and I love the doughnuts and coffee at Good Dough. What you will find at Good Dough is artisan doughnuts with good quality coffee. Please be aware that there is limited parking and doughnuts tend to go fast so get their early if you can. If you're favorite type of doughnut is Krispy Kreme or Dunkin Doughnuts I caution you that Good Dough donuts are different but I highly suggest that you give them a try. Most of their flavors you're not going to find at other doughnut shops. We also like that the flavors routinely change and there are always special doughnuts or doughwiches. The location is always clean and they have windows looking in to the kitchen so you can see them making doughnuts. Overall I highly recommend giving them a try.
The doughnuts were delicious! I ordered a turtle chocolate, my 3yo daughter had the Molly Ringwald (she chose it bc of the pink icing and sprinkles), and my 1yo had an original glazed. They had a really unique and fun selection! The place has a beautiful, modern design, but it’s very kid-friendly, too! They have a corner with a toy kitchen, lego table, and some trains and trucks. My girls LOVED it! They also have windows to the kitchen close to the play area, so the kids can watch them cook. We will be back!
The donuts are always amazing, the coffee is some of the best in Jax and their Matcha is the best in Jax. Also the customer service is always on point. Plus it’s beautiful and clean. The line can be long on Saturday but that’s understandable, I go during the week and never have a problem.
Omg one of the best Doughnuts I have had ever! No lie I promise to you all! The lattes are magnificent as well. The coffee has a nice strong richness. If you are debating you much gooo you won’t regret it.....well the scale might disagree because you won’t be able to stop at one, but you gotta live a little. I loved the brown butter, (that one is my favorite), also the butterscotch bacon, and the maple one!!! I also tried the fried chicken doughnut sandwich and let’s just say you gotta experience this once in your life. The decor and vibe is very clean, eclectic, and hipster bohoish. You also have a window to see them prepare all the doughnuts fresh. I can’t wait to go back when I visit the family again. My photos are in the comments.
Obsessed with the Pina Colada donut! We didn’t get to try many flavors as we got there very late in the day (poorly planned day). I will be there early next time. New favorite place!
My son has a dairy allergy so finding a treat for him is hard. We found out they did Vegan doughnuts on Fridays and after a few failed attempts, they went above and beyond to help my son get a batch of the delicious doughnuts. He was so excited and couldn’t wait to get them home to try them out. He loves them!!!! I truly appreciate you all and I highly recommend trying them out to any who hasn’t! We will definitely be back in, thank you for helping kids to feel normal with food allergies.
I’ve had the pleasure of eating donuts from Good Dough twice — both from the Saturday Farmers Market in Fernandina Beach — and they were absolutely delicious! My family and I tried the key lime, lemon poppyseed, chocolate, strawberry shortcake, and cookies and cream, and every single one was out of this world amazing.
It’s impossible to get something from here that isn’t amazing. Every time we go, we tell ourselves we’re just going to get two donuts(one a piece), then walk out with a half dozen because we can’t make up our minds. They also have the best chai latte in town. Hands down, best donut shop in Jacksonville.
After drooling over the Instagram for weeks, my family drove 45 minutes this afternoon to visit. Let me tell you, Good Dough did not disappoint!! Although they were closing in about an hour, they continued to make and put out every donut until closing! Which means there was no dreaded, “I’m sorry. All that’s left is what we have”, which was so important because the Cotton Candy Buttercream Unicorn donut just flies off the racks. Tegan’s hot chocolate was hand crafted with melted-right-then-and-there ganache. Coffee was amazing and the employees (owners?) were so friendly! Thank you, also, for having a play area for the children. So impressive. I can’t say enough good things about Good Dough!!
Very good donuts. Some of the icings are way too sweet though. They should make something like a $2 doughnut that’s normally on the menu that’s not as fancy because there are people that have more than one or two kids and would love to bring them there but cannot afford it. Quaint shop though.
Really hip place but not a huge fan. Way overpriced and dough is really dry & heavy, not light and fluffy. I've been really excited to go here for months and was extremely disappointed. Most of our dozen tasted stale, and we came early in the day. I think the flavors are unique, but they need to perfect that dough a little more.
We really wanted to like these donuts but sadly that wasn't the case. The donuts are heavy and dense and taste almost stale. The donuts themselves all tasted the same but with different glazes or toppings and as for those, nothing was really strong in flavor, pretty bland overall. We purchased 6 different donuts and each took a bite of each donut and no single donut was finished, one bite each was enough. For our drinks we got cortados and after one sip we dumped them out, though the art work on top of the coffee was pretty cool. Had I gone alone I might have thought my taste buds were just off for the day, maybe coming down with a cold or something, but all 3 of us were in agreement. I don't think a second trip is in our future. So bummed.
The atmosphere was really cool and I loved they had toys for kids to play with in a little section, but the drink and donuts we got left a lot to be desired.
I got the Harry Potter special latte drink and asked what it was and I thought from my understanding it was a butter beer flavor (like a syrup), espresso and milk...nope...It was espresso milk and soda water or butterbeer root beer type drink. It was not what I expected and wasn’t exactly what was described either. I had coffee envy of everyone else when I saw their real lattes vs my “soda latte”
I got the lemon donut and the flavor was right on, but the donut just tasted like a heavy bread with icing, not similar to what you’d expect in a donut. My husband got the cake donut and said it was good either. My son ate the icing (best part) and left the bread part.
I was pining over trying it forever and it was not what I expected, but we may have gotten the wrong things altogether.
The Butterscotch Bacon is pretty darn good... however this is the 2nd time I've tried one of the chocolate donuts and the 2nd time I've had to throw in trash due to it tasting burnt- it was really disgusting and a lesson learned- now if you like your donuts burnt and dense, this is the place to go.
A bit pricey and not one I will go to often.
Make sure to park in the proper parking- the businesses around them have some hysterical signs in ref to using their spots.
Last time we went, they were out of lids and holders for coffee and stopped making donuts( it was 12:00 PM) so the choices were limited and no donuts sandwiches were available..the donuts we settled for ( peanut butter, salted caramel) were just not that great...staff was a little apathetic too..not rude, but just didn’t seem to care.
