Well I had been wanting Habanero's beef fajita tacos for the last two weeks, but kept putting it off and just eating what I had at home, but since I was already coming home from N. Austin I detoured on Oltorf exit off IH35 S. I got me two with everything on it and a miga tabo with h a side of chilé. I remember back when I lived in the 04district in the early to mid 80's. It was call Dos Hermanos at the time. I would order three beef fajitas with everything even when they put that crushed green HOT ass chilé. I order on a Saturday morning after a Friday night doing my thing. It's great they still make them close to the 80's days. Back then they were bog and sort of dripping fajita juices while chicken wing down. Still great tacos.�����

This place is a nice hidden treasure here in Austin. The food was delicious and pretty authentic. It's small so I don't recommend trying to go during peak times bc you will more than likely have to wait but the quality of food for the price is awesome. I'm so glad I stumbled across it. Will definitely be returning next time I'm down in South Austin.

This is my go to place. I'm from California and to me it's hard to find a good Mexican restaurant habaneros does it for me. My children even love it.

This Place is Small But worth the wait had the Menudo it was good tacos slammed hot sauce on point job well done

My favorite restaurant in the Atx! When I worked on S. Lamar I would be there at least twice a week! Working in lakeway last 10 years I try to stop by when I can. Everything is Delicious & Owners and wait staff are Excellent! Must go to & try it!!

My all time favorite place for authentic Mexican food! When my friends visit it's our go to place for breakfast. We order our Menudo and barbacoa tacos! The ladies my not recall my name but they know face and refer to me as "mi amiga" and always with a smile. �

It's nothing fancy, but it's the best Tex-Mex place I've ever been to. It's subjective, I know. For me, though, it's because the food is spiced and prepared almost identically to my grandma's homecooking. That's exactly what it is. Authentic Tejano homecooking. And that's why it's the best.

It is a genuinely Mexican restaurant! Hot sauce, best eggs, fajitas, menudo, and a small restaurant with good reasonable prices! As a small restaurant I can see why he won’t deal with anything but cash! That way he can be sure of what he is bringing in and what is going out! I’m sure it is a horrible bookkeeping hassle try g to figure out fees due which distracts him from selling good food!

I live in college station, and I will make a trip to austin just to go eat there at Habenaros. I deliver to austin couple times a week, and I will go out of my way just to get the best tacos I've ever had. The meat... so satisfying! I tip my hat to this place!

I am from North Texas but worked in Austin for a couple years, and A friend brought me over here. Wow!! What a find!! I have since moved to a different project all the way across the state but I always love when I come back here I certainly will not miss stopping to eat at Habanero's. My favorite is a Ranchero fajitas.

And another thing I like is if they are so consistent, I get what I want every time and it always is the same. Their steak and egg breakfast it is absolutely great!! And get some of the green sauce with it!! This is absolutely a great place for anyone that likes Mexican food!!

I always go in for the same plate. It's called the Huevos Gringos. If you want to conquer this dish come in hungry. It's a heavy dish but oh so delicious. Service is always good and food comes out quick. Food is always hot. The only thing I wish they would convert back to is taking debit/credit cards. Sometimes I have to pass them up for breakfast or lunch because I don't have cash on me. Yes they have an ATM but I'm not gonna pay fees just to pull cash. But please don't let this issue take away from the food and service.

Food was very delicious menudo chips and salsa was a 10 ********** wait staff was awesome though place was small they got it going on there in Austin we will have to come back and visit again soon..

Fajitas are grilled with lots of flavor and are picoso. They're Habanero Salsa(by request) is the bomb..literally!!!� Also Breakfast is very good!! Kind tight on space and always packed..but all good restaurants are!

Fajita rancheras are the best fajitas in Austin. I live in Georgetown now so I don't get to go to habaneros nearly as often as I used to. I've been going to habaneros for the past 11 years and I've never been able to find Spanish rice or salsa as good.

Busy for a good reason! It’s a relatively small space and it was very busy, but the wait for 2 was only 5 minutes and the food was incredible! Our waitress was super friendly and checked on us constantly. The carnitas tacos were huge. Salsa was too spicy for me (I’m a wuss) but very flavorful so I ate it anyways. Everything was delicious, the portions were large, the service was great.

Besides being our favorite Austin restaurant, wife and I have thoughts about just taking a day trip from Houston area to eat here and drive back. Even their Salsa and chips are awesome. The crew is always friendly to us. They even remember us (gringos) every time we drop in, even if 6+ months later. 5 stars, great food and people, and love the atmosphere. Even if we are just passing thru' Austin area on our way to or from a different destination, we always drop by. :) We've been going here for over 10 to 15+ years. No one recommended the place to us .... we just saw it while driving in the area, tried it, and have not stopped coming back. Always consistent. Muy deliciosa!

All I can say is that this place ROCKS! The taste is superb. I'm not one to give hype when it comes to food because everyone is different, but I will stick my neck out there for this place. It is the BEST Mexican restaurant in town.



Breakfast tacos? No citris hypster junk. No cabbage. No "infusion". Just straight up homemade breakfast tacos like mom used to make.



Lunch? Absolutely delicious. No surprises.



Dinner? Sure why not.



Don't take my word for it. Go yourself... BAM!

Food was very good and service as well! Probably would have gave 5 if the atmosphere was more updated. But a very good place to eat! Love the salsa!
