We came from Green Cove Springs just to this place. Our daughter wanted real ramen and we wanted reg. food. She enjoyed her ramen. We had the fried chicken. It was soo good. It will make you slap Col. Sanders. You have to try Grits Balls w cheese sauce .. it is outstanding. We will def. Be back. The only con is it needs more seating.

This place is amazing. The service was superb. The people working there are great! I loved the atmosphere and even though the dining area was small, the staff made it feel very welcoming! The ramen was amazing! I am not a local but whenever I am in town again I will absolutely make the trip to eat there again!

Probably the best ramen I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating. The pork broth was flavorful, but not salty. The shredded pork was melt in my mouth tender. And the regular size was plenty big. I will definitely be eating here again, and soon! I will also bring my parents here to try the chicken. Thank you, for your service and for sharing your love of delicious food with Jacksonville!!!

Phenomenal food, excellent service and a menu with something for everyone. This is my family's favorite place to eat, the tonkotsu broth is to die for! The staff always makes my daughter's day.

Our first visit will be the first of many. The ramen was delicious. Some of the best fried chicken I have ever had. Deep fried biscuits, sounds insane but don't skip them, so good. We will make sure to spread the word about Hangar Bay!

Not enough space to tell how great this place is! Hellfire Ramen is out of this world. Fried Chicken is as good as you can get anywhere...as good as or better than the old Homestead. Fried biscuits..fried okra... I haven't had anything on the menu that is less than fabulous. Great prices! A weekly treat for my family!!!

My son has been talking about coming here for months and with such cold and rainy weather I could not have picked a better night to try it.

It's always a good sign to barely walk inside and see the line of people waiting! *seeing so many fellow Asians was encouraging too ;)

The ramen was really good.

I mean Really Good.

Full of flavor and the noodles had a great texture. Need more book choy!

The chicken... Oh my God, the chicken...

Hot, well seasoned, crispy, juicy... Good grief

So happy to have this tiny gem of a restaurant so close to home!

My favorite place for comfort food, and comfort surroundings. Because of the owner's prior service, the whole place is kind of like the interior of a ship, complete with a hatchway on display at the entrance! Each dish is delicious, and well-prepared. Oh, and homemade. The owner is a cool guy, and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. It's one of my favorite local businesses to support.

My employees and I love grabbing lunch at this unique and flavorful spot that always delivers at hitting the spot! Fried chicken is always hot, crispy, and delicious! The ramen is flavorfull and true to origin with huge portions! Get here and support this owner and restaurant like he supports his service men/women and local community!!!

Man, where to start... if you’re a fan of food, like I am, do yourself a favor and come by The Hanger Bay! I found out about this place through a friend’s FB post when he visited on his birthday and decided I had to have some. If you’re a Tonkotsu ramen fan like I am, you almost certainly will not be disappointed! The ramen was hot and delicious, the chicken fresh and juicy, the fried biscuit sweet and hot, and the fried Mac was SUPER good! Nothing here to disappoint! Next time I’m going for the Hellfire ramen on the recommendation of a friend, either that or I’m coming hungry and going for the Godzilla Ramen!

Love this place. The food is amazing- ramen, wings, fried chicken, Po Boys- they have it all. The staff is nice, and the owner is a trip- in a great way. It’s so much fun to come in and talk to him while you wait for amazing food. I haven’t had a bad meal in the many times I have come here and intend to return again and again :)

Japanese-quality ramen (for those of us who have lived there!) with so many extra delicious items on the menu, like Cajun ramen recipes, fantastic fried chicken and more. Don't miss this little gem on Mayport Road at the turn-off for the commissary and exchange.

I was so excited for my Ramen & Fried Chicken at Hanger Bay today, that I spilled my entire drink in my lap as I literally snatched the food from the server’s hands. It’s that damn good. Oh, and I yelled a VERY loud expletive (as my drink went flying) in a dining room full of sailors, and not one of them flinched (but one did hand me a wad of napkins, lol.). It was awesome.

Have gone 3 times now, every time is better than the last! The chicken strips are amazing! Also if you haven’t tried the fried Mac and cheese do yourself a favor and stop what you’re doing and go get it now! This place is amazing!

Hanger Bay Cafe lived up to the hype! The Ramen noodle soup was fantastic, full of flavor and just the right amount of spice (had the Hellfire & the Curry). The fried chicken was wonderfully juicy inside & the lightly breaded coating crackled perfectly each bite. The owner and chef were present, obviously interested in the experience of customers, and enjoyed them answering questions and sharing their stories about the food and restaurant. Highly recommend and look forward to a 2nd visit soon!

Amazing food. The fried chicken was great and we absolutely loved the Hellfire Ramen! If you still have room for dessert the cheesecake with brownie, fudge and caramel was sooo delicious!!

Having lived in Japan 20 years and enjoying real Ranen. We were not all that pleased with what we got. My wife got the Pork Ramen and barely had a taste. I got the Soy/ Chicken and it was better with a taste. The Gyoza we did not like at all. Nothing like any that we have ever had. The Fried Mac and Vheese was pretty good.



Over all I would not return all way from Orange Park justfir Ramen. If I was in the Mayport area I might stop by just for the Soy/Chicken Ramen.
