Stopped by yesterday on the 4th of July! Picked up some delicious local honey and look forward to returning! I grew up in the neighborhood (my parents still live on Kane) and love to see what they have done with the store. Cool variety of everything from honey and jams, to all natural skin care products and cool sodas, beer and wine. Lastly, enough cannot be said for the friendliness and enthusiasm of the staff and owner. Class act.

Just went in for the soft opening. I’m in love with the barbecue. Some of the best I’ve had in town. The brisket is tender and the turkey is moist. Check this place out.

I wish every neighborhood was lucky enough to have a general store like this, including mine. Henderson and Kane keeps it local from delicious pastries to a great selection of beer and wine (including growlers y’all). I got a macchiato and just walked around browsing listening to music it was relaxing. I bought some beautiful earrings by Adriane Wiltse and some goodies to go. I love that you can get farm fresh milk and eggs. There were so many friendly people like me just checking out the place and falling in love. Walking through this gem makes you feel like your part of the neighborhood. This was my first ever visit to the Sixth Ward and I can’t wait to go back.
