Reviews
I had to downgrade my review as the service here has gotten worse since I started going there. Last time I went, there was a total of about 8 customers in the whole place and not only did they mess our order up, they never made the food at all! I ended up just getting a refund and leaving instead of waiting even more time for the food.
Sometimes you just get sick of pizza, hamburgers and tacos. You don't want something that is going to sit on your stomach like a sack of wet rags. That's when we go to la Madeleine. Great array of soups, salads and sandwiches as well as very good pastries. This place seems to have a high turnover, which means there is confusion at the register sometimes but the food is always good and the staff is always friendly. Sometimes busy but never ridiculously crowded. One thing they need to do is have some sweet tea. This is the South and we like our tea sweet. And since they don't drink iced tea in France i assume the iced tea is there to cater to American taste. So get some sweet tea, guys.
Cashier placed the wrong order so I didn't get what I was expecting. Food server made no attempt to correct the mistake or get a manager involved. Coffee bar was out of coffee so we waited until they made more. It is no wonder why this place is empty at 8:30 on a Saturday morning.
Food is OK and too expensive for the quality. Take away the french decor and it's average fare. The tomato basil soup is as good as always, however.
Comfortable environment. A little cold but good food. Only complaint is the air return grates by the fireplace are very dirty and black with dirt. Time to do a more detailed cleaning.
This restaurant serves fake french food , everything is cooked beforehand and sits in warmers. No freshness at all ! No experienced cooks and served to you by goofy teenagers who don't know the first thing about good food! Don't even think of ordering pasta, all you get is boil in a bag like a TV dinner. Ordered a Chicken Friand, expecting a delicious pot pie type of meal and what I got was comparable to a Hot Pocket, bland and tasteless, with hardly any filling. The Crepes were hard and rubbery. Don't waste your time or money at this overpriced place . Note to the corporation, you have to actually COOK the food !
Food was delicious as always. It took a bit longer to get my sandwich than usual, but everything else was great. I can't wait until we get a La Madeleine in Waco!
I love La Madeleine! They're tomato basil soup is to die for! You must try it! They also have many, many other entrees that are delicious. I get numerous things here. Food is served warm. It gets packed here occasionally, but I would wait for my food here!! :)
Quick service, quality food. Easy to dine in or call ahead and carry out. Menu hasn't changed much over the years, but I love their food. Best tomato basil soup.
Cozy cafe with great food! You can order off the menu and they'll bring it to your table, or you can order à la carte. They even offer a to go option. I've always had great service and the atmosphere is perfect. If you want something cozy and different from other restaurants in the area try this place. You won't regret it.
