Great coffee drink that was just what I wanted & how I like it with help from the really helpful barrista. Great banana nut bread too! A fairly large place with nice solo and group searing areas. Great for meeting a friend to catch up or go in alone & work or play online on the free wifi.

Great iced toddy, good prices, Lolita's breakfast tacos first thing in the morning, and fresh muffins!

Good coffee and decent coffee shop environment. They could add a few more breakfast type food items. Does any coffee shop offer any newspapers anymore? .... or gas that also gone by the wayside?

Friendly, upbeat staff and undiniably good coffee! There may not be a huge selection of food but there are eateries within walking distance. Machas is my go-to place to study because I can always rely on a quiet and comfortable place to work.

Love the easy feel here with a hint of history. This is my favorite of two locations in San Marcos. Spacious feel, great coffee, served piping hot to the brim - must be a trademark. Helpful staff is devoted to the best cup of coffee just for you!

Pretty good coffee and quiet atmosphere. Four stars because the coffee could be better, but the employees were extremely friendly and so were the occupants.

Tried the milky way mocha, hazlenut brownie & chocolate chip cookie. All were pretty delicous. Quiet place with several people working at their laptops & mobile devices.

Drip coffee is pretty good. Good selection of drinks. Pastries are good and staff is friendly. Quiet and cozy little place.

Nice cozy place for coffee and friends. I have enjoyed meeting up with business buddies for a quick coffee break here. The baristas are very friendly and helpful.

I have been coming to this place for like 3 years and they have been awesome! They know they're regulars and have their drinks memorized. When I'm sick they suggest special drinks, they made up a drink special based on my favorite drink, and every Barista there is just incredibly sweet. This is by far my favorite place in town to be!

Good new flavors of coffee, affordable process, plenty of variety. Oatmeal bar, gluten free options, tacos, smoothies and just about whatever else you want from a coffee shop. Friendly service and relaxed atmosphere.

My favorite be-productive coffee shop in San Marcos--and it has been for several years.

If you're looking for a relatively low-key place with great coffee, sufficient snackage, always-friendly service, and varied seating options (including outdoors), this is the place to go. There are enough people coming and going to keep things interesting without it becoming a distraction or getting crowded.

If you're looking for a bustling coffehouse with throngs of people and an almost club-like atmosphere, you'll be best served by another destination.

Probably my favorite coffee shop in San Marcos. I like this location because it is very quiet and rarely crowded. The couch at the back almost always seems to be available.

They regularly offer extra shots of coffee on the house, so keep that in mind if you're getting specialty drinks. Very nice staff as well, and the line moves quick. Try the pumpkin bread.

Friendly staff, great selection of drinks and food, and convenient location. In a town with plenty of coffee shops to choose from, Mochas and Javas has become my go to spot. I'm particular about my lattes, and they never disappoint. They do sell out of breakfast tacos very quickly though.

Great place for coffee. Sit back on the coach or any of the soft leather chairs and enjoy a delicious mocha or frap!
