The food was good, but higher priced. The results have been going down. This last time they couldn't fix a food without an item just warm up what was already in the mix. We had omelet 3 eggs with 4 items. we had extra charge for 1 of those with small amount of spinach and no bacon as requested . Charge removed, but small fillings for large price 10$. A place that charges more for fresh items removed the gluten free options they had. summary high price ok to good food that is on downtrend.
Love this place. Great food. Homemade jams for breakfast. Nice thick bacon, fresh eggs, and well-seasoned home fries. Coffee is good, too. Lunch offerings are equally as delicious.
Usually very good. This time the waitress was like way too busy I guess. She put gravy on my chicken but did give us a complimentary tomato bisque soup which was very delicious. My friend ordered vegetable plate and about two or three times she said they were out of certain vegetables. It was late in the day though they close at 3. Then finally bill came and it was like $10 more than it should be because she charged me for two orders of chicken. As much as I love the honey coated fried chicken we will be taking a break.
Very yummy home cooked style food. I just had the chicken fried steak and unlike most places it wasn't greasy. The mashed potatoes were likely how mom makes them! Delicious!
Recently went here for the first time and overall I was very happy with the food quality and the overall experience. It is very popular with the locals. Service was very very very very slow. And the coffee is served in tiny teacups. I had the avocado toast breakfast special which is a large slice of sourdough toast with avocado spread on top of that with a fairly thick slice of raw tomato that was really supposed to be grilled, and topped with 2x. I ordered mine over medium. I also ordered an extra egg over medium and it was served over the side. The yolk was hard so it was overcooked. I ordered a side of bacon and it was very good. I purchased a cinnamon roll for $5 before leaving. I got that to go for a friend of mine that wanted me to pick one up for him. He said that he wouldn't pay $2 for it but it was very dry and even popped in there microwave for a little bit and that didn't help. He only took about two bites and threw the rest away. I'm going back tomorrow so I will see how everything goes and will update my review based on that experience.
Outstanding! Food, Service and Atnosphere.
Jill our server made our visit the most enjoyable.
Will return again and will be glad to pass on the word.
Very pleased!
Good food. Good staff. No complaints! Always bringing guests from out of town here. Charming is the word of use to describe it.
The Monument Cafe has a variety of interesting menu choices. I had the lemon ricotta pancake which tastes fabulous. The orange juice was fresh squeezed. The cafe is in a historic building with modern accents. I would recommend this cafe.
My family loves coming here for any meal! Their breakfast is wonderful but their lunch and dinner options are just as good. Try their chicken fried steak it's fantastic!
It's like an old school diner in style and menu, but their quality of ingredients is amazing you don't feel like it's "diner food."
There is almost always a wait, especially on weekends. We like to walk around the market that's attachd to it while we wait.
Monument cafe is always great. Hugh menu ,everything good. We always make sure to go when in Georgetown. Usually a wait. But well worth it. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Never had a bad meal. Very casual atmosphere and kid friendly. Fast, friendly service.
Great food and great service. It was busy when we got here. Was told 10 minute wait but but ended up being less. They texted us when our table was ready.
The service is usually good and the food is above par. I've only been here for breakfast but I usually enjoy the experience. I'm not a fan of their pancakes but their cinnamon rolls are pretty good.
The last few times I've came here the service is not what you expect from Monument. Today was no different. From no straw, no biscuit, to missing 2 things from my order to having to ask for water refill (twice) despite sitting at the counter and the waiter passing by multiple times. Sunday is the only day I'll come anymore and it's only for the turkey and dressing. Not sure what has happened to the service here but it's been declining for the last 2-3 years. Good food though.
The food is really good and the service very quick. I had the two egg dish, and paid a little over $9 for it. My only complaint is there price... A little high for what I got. However it was delicious and they start the meal with complimentary biscuits. Definitely worth a visit.
