Paleo Puffin Description
The Paleo Puffin has been a part of Sherwood Forest Faire since the very first season. It was started by two members of the band Circa Paleo (hence the “Paleo” in “Paleo Puffin”) and is still owned by Jay Elkins and Jenny O’Connor. The idea was to create a gypsy /elven /quirky hangout at the Elven Hill stage where our friends could sip a hot, tasty beverage, smoke a hookah, grab a beer from the nearby pub, bring over a pizza from Como’s or some nachos from the Golden Conquistador and enjoy a day’s worth of awesome musical entertainment. It worked. Nowhere else, to our knowledge, can you find such a place at a Renaissance Festival.

The cold brew I enjoyed was like a refreshing summer breeze, and it woke me right up. The décor is quirky yet charming, with mismatched chairs and whimsical artwork. The barista even shared a coffee joke that had me in stitches. A must-visit for those who appreciate a good brew and a good laugh.

I had a disappointing experience at Paleo Puffin. The coffee was lukewarm, and the staff seemed disinterested in serving customers at the 1883 Old Highway 20, McDade, Texas 78650 location. I won't be returning.
