This place contends for a close second as my favorite coffee shop, a little behind West Oak only because of the hours. Other than that, this place puts others to shame (looking at you Jupiter...)

Everything I've had here is outstanding, and I generally pick up my beans for at home brewing here.

This is an excellent coffee shop. I drink their Americanos several times a week and they really are the best ones in town. There is just something really special and calming about this place. For great coffee, friendly and kind staff and a welcoming, calm environment, there is no better place in Denton.

The coffee and service here are so amazing. The owner is incredibly personable and happy to answer any questions you may have regarding their offerings, or coffee in general. He is a walking coffee encyclopedia! I am very happy to have found and tried this place. Holidays and special occasions just got much easier. My sons never know what to get me for Christmas (because there is nothing I usually want), but this past year I requested gift certificates for Shift! My birthday is this month and I already know what I will be requesting.

The best coffee around... Seriously. They buy their beans from the best roasters in Texas (and other places?) and their selection is truly top notch. They always have exciting coffees to offer.

Angelo is great to talk coffee w or ask questions. He really knows his stuff but doesn't come off as pretentious.



Lets see... the atmosphere is fine, and the pour-over is done like I do mine at home, so it's great.



Also, they include a free pour-over for each bag of beans u buy so, you know... do that probably.

Stopped in recently because West Oak was packed, I hadn't heard anything about Shift Coffee before but I had a great experience. The barista was very welcoming and kind, answered any questions I had about their specialty coffee's, and even brought my coffee out to me despite him being the only one working in a rather full coffee shop. My mocha was fantastically made and I stayed and enjoyed the atmosphere while getting some work done for a couple of hours! I will certainly be stopping by more often!

Love this place! They make the best coffee!! The guys are so knowledgeable and passionate about coffee and have educated me on the everything on their menu. Order their lavender toddy with almond milk! Amazing!

Its the only place in town that knows what they are doing. Its under the watchful eye of the owner Angelo who painstakingly trains his staff to pour the perfect coffee beverage.

I really enjoyed my recent trip home. I tried all the new coffee joints, and they're all great. Shift is still the best coffee in Denton.

I drink high quality (i.e. third wave) coffee regularly. The espresso and pour over I had today were both exquisite. The flavor profiles on both were clearly discernible; there was considerable nuance perceivable. The beans were high quality, and the craftsmanship was superb. If I may, I'd like to channel Spinal Tap and give them 11/10: If you want excellent coffee, go to a 10 (of which there is at least one in Denton); but if you want phenomenal coffee, go here, 'cause they're one better.

I am SO EXCITED that shift coffee is down the street from me. I came in for the first time today and was completely blown away by the fabulous décor and cleanliness of the place! The barista was so nice and answered my questions. I can't exactly remember what I got... but I believe it was an Iced Lavender Latte of some sort...it was AMAZING!! I can't wait to go back tomorrow and get another. I would recommend to anyone in the Denton area.

Denton as a college town may have a lot of cafés, but most in my semi-humble opinion are underwhelming copycats. Shift is a coffeehouse for people who actually enjoy a quality cuppa. I appreciate that they sometimes feature aeropress, while always have some kind of pour-over. They're sort of the 1418 of Denton #PlanoLife
