Skipper'S Greek Cafe Description
Many of us know and love Skipper’s Greek Cafe as the best breakfast in the Clear Lake area but how many of you have sampled Terry Psarovarkas’ authentic Greek delicacies? Each week Terry hand prepares Greek Leg of Lamb, Lamb Shanks, Pastitsio and Mousaka using old family recipes handed down by word of mouth through the generations and perfected under the watchful eye of Terry’s Mother. John mixes his fabulous Greek Salad Dressing weekly and over the years has been asked so many times for a “cup of dressing” by customers that he now bottles it and makes it available at the counter. Friday and Saturdays at Skipper’s is “Greek Day” when Terry proudly presents her Lamb delicacies along with Friday night entertainment.
The family atmosphere of Skipper’s is most enjoyable and almost immediately you will feel like part of the family. John and Terry’s children have been kept close to the business, so you will no doubt see the family dining often along with the Skipper’s three grandchildren. Peter worked at Skipper’s for several years to help put himself through college and Kimon now is as familiar a face as John’s.
Hurricane Ike almost wiped Skipper’s from the map. But through determination and very hard work John and Kimon completely renovated the building and brought a new face to Skipper’s for your enjoyment.
John, Terry, and Kimon want to thank each of you for your business and friendship through the years and look forward to having you back to dine with them. We are family and we consider you part of our family!

Well the wait is finally over....SKIPPERS WILL BE REOPENING ON THURSDAY NOVEMBER 16, 2017 AT 5:30 AM!! We are so excited to see all of you and most of all to serves each and everyone of you. This place is amazing! Skipper is kind and his staff’s customer service is excellent. We waited about ten minutes to get in the door but, let me tell you, the wait was worth it!

This place is a hidden gem.. I love the biscuits, made from scratch to perfection. The chicken fried steak and potatoes had me wanting more.
If you are ever in the area check them out. You won't be disappointed! �

This coming Thursday, November 16, 2017 cannot come soon enough! Everyday, since Harvey blew into town we have been anxiously waiting for Skipper’s to re-open! Kimon, Robin, Tommie and everyone else are so welcoming each and every day. It is the epitome of a family business, treating their regular patrons as an extension of their family. The gyro plate is calling my name come Thursday... unless it’s the kielbasa and eggs! 😊😊😊😊😊

The red snapper was exquisite......grape leaves as well! 5 Michelin stars for your restaurant! Ben Russell was charming! Service was excellent. Thank you! Lizzie and Ben. PS....we'll be back!

The line is always long, because the food is great!

The fact that you were not afraid to take in tarzans shoes less woman. I've never been to you place but as a server good for you. You should do some sort of promo like bring in a pair of children shoes for school and get 20% off your meal or something cool like that. Of course do it in her name or honor LOL

The best family restaurant EVER!! Family owned, family ran, & everyone is family when they walk through the door. If you get lucky...there will be a longtime cook who remembers how to make the Shrimp Scampi (aka the BEST meal you’ll ever eat!) If not, you can enjoy the Gyro plate with an AHHMAZING greek salad. Bonus: you can add as much lamb & tzatziki as you want!

Skipper's is a wonderful place. They have high standards for cleanliness, and enforce their dress code. They don't allow whiners, either, and that's a definite plus.

Karen and I love to eat here, the staff are great and want you to enjoy your meal. Never have to ask for more drinks they are always there to keep your drinks full. The price is very reasonable and food is very good.

Had gyro platter which was delicious and the Greek salad was good and simple. The service was great. The dining atmosphere is comfortable to dine out. I'll be back. Worth my first visit at this restaurant.

Always a favorite for me & love their Greek Salads along with other good food. Recently enjoyed the fact that there was two children helping serve drinks & cleaning tables. They had the best work ethics & manners I had ever seen. Please give them a try, well worth it.

Best breakfast in clear lake area! Would never return to IHOP after eating here. The home fries are hand made and always cooked just right. Food comes out fast as well! Customer for life!

I like this restaurant, but I was disappointed with the seafood platter lunch special. The fish was tasteless, greasy and overcooked. The fried shrimp and onion rings were good. I love their Greek salad and that is usually what I order. Next time, I will stick with that.
