A note from Life Group teacher, James Davidson:
If you have enrolled or are considering enrolling in Parkside's Downtown Study Group (James & Gloria Davidson), this email is for you. We will meet this coming Sunday, 9-16-2018, 5 pm, at 319 West Main, Denison, Texas, where Wendy Acosta's Desk & Easel is located. This Sunday we will study Chapter 1 of John MacArthur's Colossians & Philemon Book.
These books are in and can be purchased at the ROC desk for $10 each. Ron Urban ...has them and will gladly take your $10. When he's not there, Terry Coffee should be able to help you. The paperback version rather than the kindle version is best because you can write in your answers to MacArthur's study questions. I would encourage you to buy a separate book for your own personal study. Gloria and I did. But it's not mandatory.
Some of MacArthur's questions are of the type we will discuss together. Others are directed right at the reader...of a personal nature/personal application variety. We won't be asking people to answer these questions in class. But it really does personalize the study. I like this study book and am excited to start teaching.
If you haven't enrolled and decide to take the course, please call Parkside and ask for Jennifer Smith, Administrative Assistant, 903-465-1686. She will assist you in enrolling.

Does this ring true for you...? You have a hard deadline coming up. You go early to your favorite coffee shop where you hope to score the table near the plug as well as beat the crowd. When you arrive the table is available🙌🙌 but next to it a group of people have pushed tables together to create a community for catching up🤔. No problem, that's why God created earbuds. You settle in and get to work. Actually getting some things accomplished...then a late comer to the group... catching up arrives with stroller being pushed by the 3 year old who should be riding inside, diaper bag for the baby they are carrying and a sulking 5 year old with an iPad and no headphones. Before long the 5 yr old is chasing the 3 yr old with the stroller, the baby is crying and the group is so caught up in catching up they don't seem to notice that you are actually trying to work at your table!! "There has to be a better way!!" you scream silently to yourself, not that it would matter because the blender is so loud no one could hear if you did scream.
Well there is a better way... COWORKING. "What's Coworking?" I'm glad you asked... Coworking is what you are trying to do at the coffee shop but the coffee shop is for socializing not working.
