Amy is amazing and a wealth of information. Incredible service & hospitality here and they’re super knowledgeable about their teas, on par with any coffee shop, wine store, or beer folks I’ve ever met. Cheers and thank you!
I love this place! The tea selection is the best I've ever seen and most of the menu can be made gluten free. I love the brunch but they also have great soups and sandwiches. Service has always been great. Try the candied ginger scone with honey butter!
I have been going The Steeping Room for years! Their ginger scones and milk oolong tea are not to be missed. I love how community oriented they are. They've been so careful to adopt procedures that keep their employees and customers safe during the pandemic while doing their best to also serve delicious tea and treats. Please continue to support this lovely woman owned business. Austin needs businesses like this one to thrive!
I first experience their teas at a Christmas party about seven years ago. I like the variety and uniqueness of their teas. I mainly use their fruit type teas steeped and poured over a jug of ice. They are tasty to drink during the hot Houston days.
What a wonderful experience! I brought my girlfriend here for her birthday and we received welcoming, and friendly service paired with delicious food. The recommendations for tea we received from our server, Brandy, were educating and ultimately, satisfying choices. We had a great assortment of options with the century oaks tea service. So many different textures and flavors. Highly recommended if you love tea or just want a cozy spot to get a snack.
Amazing variety of teas that are well organized for both tea aficianados and those new to tea. Their food is delicious and reasonably priced! And vegan options! Great meeting place.
Great place for just about any tea you can imagine. You can bring home your favorites too. The crowd is mostly made up of local college students. So, it's a nice quiet place to get a bit of study time in, have your favorite tea and a pastry. The vibe is relaxing.
This location is always packed! The tea is to die for. I get the genmaicha green tea and get the pack of loose tea so I can enjoy it anytime I want. It's fantastic! You must try the teas here! Must!
All the employees were very kind and answered our questions patiently and kindly. I got the seasonal peach iced tea and drank 4 cups of it with unlimited refills. I would totally recommend that! I also got a cup of the tomato soup and side of wheat toast. It was excellent but definitely go in with the mindset that it's pricey due to the quality of the ingredients.
This is my favorite chill lunch place. Great tea, love the tea sandwiches, and the scones are the best I've had. Get them with the honey butter. You won't regret it.
I love The Steeping Room! Thank you for having options on your menu that can accommodate people like me with food sensitivities!
Among my favorite places in Austin. Neither location has much seating, so consider making a reservation. The food is fabulous. I thought I loved their regular menu, and then I discovered how amazing their brunch is. While their tea is expensive, it's always worth it. I always end up going home with some tea leaves!
Great Tea, Mediocre Food
Love the awesome selection of tea and the desserts are great. Honestly, this is a great place to come for dessert and tea.
However, I'd go elsewhere for food. If you're vegan or vegetarian it's probably pretty good but I wish they had more hearty, dinner options. Also, our server didn't get multiple portions of our meal right which was frustrating.
This continues to be one of my favorite spots to visit when in the Austin area. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is amazing. I love the new menu! I ordered the sweet potato burrito and I love the new curry sauce. The cashier asked me if I was aware of the new changes to the menu, and proceeded to tell me the differences with the old and new sweet potato burrito. I loved the old one, but the new one is still just as good. It definitely tastes different, but I will continue to visit this spot :)
This location is my favorite because it is bigger and i don't usually have to wait to be seated. I'm a big tea enthusiasts as i have tried many teas from your herbal teas, to your green, black, red, yellow, root, and bark teas and I will tell you now that these guys can steep some good tea that even my wife loved the tea. We tried some kind of twig tea but i cannot remember the name. The tea was delicious, smooth, and had some sweet overtones. It also relaxed me to some degree of euphoria.
Our server recommended that tea to us along with the blueberry lemon tart tea cake which was just as rich in flavor and delicious. I cannot remember her name but she was great with the customer service.
I recommend this place.
The Steeping Room is a go-to place for all tea-lovers!
They have a wide range of selection when it comes to tea and they also serve breakfast, appetizers, and dessert snacks to go along with it. The dimly lit ambiance with a candle by each table creates a soothing atmosphere for the customers to relax and enjoy their drink. Service is top-notch too: they don't rush you on when you're looking over the menu and the servers will be more than happy to answer any questions you have and even come by once in awhile to make sure everything's good. It's also a plus that you can make a reservation.
So whether you're just looking for a night to relax or celebrate your anniversary, I would highly recommend you give The Steeping Room a shot!
