About Wow-Wees Cafe
Wow-Wee’s Café serves authentic Tex-Mex with a distinct South Texas flavor in San Marcos, Texas
Wow-Wees Cafe Description
We are known for our famous Wow-Wee’s XL burrito – a 21 inch, 3 pound burrito created at the request of some very hungry high school football players in the 1990s! Our menu offers classic Tex-Mex favorites including fajitas, enchiladas, tacos, carne guisada, and burritos. Wow Wee’s also serves a tasty breakfast – breakfast tacos, migas, machacado, menudo and more. Wow Wee’s uses secret, traditional recipes and fresh, all natural ingredients. We make our own delicious south Texas style of chorizo that has been prepared from the same recipe for decades. We even boil our own chilis and use natural peppers to spice our food up – no powdered ingredients here! Come on down to our restaurant for a delicious, filling breakfast or lunch, and if you’re feeling up to the challenge – see if you can tackle the Wow-Wee itself!

Nothing’s quite as satisfying as an old favorite. What’s one thing on our menu you can’t do without?

Etymology time! Did you know burrito means "little donkey?" Funny..nothing little about our burritos. Nothing donkey-like, either.
We stopped in for breakfast and were completely surprised at how good the food was. Homemade tortillas were yummy. The migas were incredible. And our waiter Geronimo couldn't have been any nicer. I will definitely be back!!
Best value for breakfast burritos in San Marcos (and anywhere, for that matter). You can get an enormous and very delicious burrito for just $5 or $6. The employees are friendly too. My friends and I have been going here for years and it'll be one of the things I miss most about SMTX when I graduate!
With that name, I had to try it. What Wow Wees lacks in ambience they make up for in the food. Plastic cups, sparse interior, cracked floors, leaning tables, and so on. No matter! These are HUGE ass tacos, stuffed with good stuff. Had a ham and egg and also a bean egg and cheese. The beans were really good, and the eggs were made right there on the grill. Tasty and filling!
The first time my children and I went which was about 2 years ago I was impressed with their huge tacos, service was decent, place wasn't over crowded and food wasn't half bad. Today we went and I probably will never return again. The place was crowded, food was blah, the people who were picking up the dishes off of the table were slamming them down in their tubs...very noisily. Also I ordered huevos rancheros and ended up getting home only to discover there was no salsa! Anyway, not impressed highly disappointed and I do not recommen this place to anyone.
