This is the absolute best place in Cullman to eat and have a beer in a quiet setting. Kyle cooks the best food I have ever eaten. Always good, every time.
I love this place been coming here for over 35 years. The food is excellent and the staff is just amazing.
Chicken fingers amd freedom fries can't be beat. The spear family are great people
My husband and sister were passing through Cullman and saw The Busy Bee Cafe, decided to stop for a bite to eat. We were so glad we did, we all had cheeseburgers and they were just delicious! ! If you order a hamburger you have to try the homemade chips, absolutely wonderful! ! Also the people are so friendly, make you feel right at home. I highly recommend stopping at this great little cafe if you are ever in Cullman Alabama, you'll be glad you did!!
Friendly people and great food and service. Also the best beer.
Great family place to eat. The German food is awesome
We went around 3pm today so I was able to try some of their German food. Decided on the Käse Schnitzel with pan fried potatoes, and I had asked for German potato salad but received French Fries instead. Not sure if they were out or something, no explanation was given, but to be fair no explanation was asked for. Wasn't that serious for me. But it does lead me into my one complaint...the service. It left a lot to be desired. Our waitress took our order, brought drinks & food, and made sure our cups weren't empty. So the basics of serving were well accomplished. Her manner is where I take issue. Not placing things on the table or handing them to us, but slinging things on the table. I also had to walk to the register to ask for a to go box, as our waitress was out front smoking a cigarette. Nothing appalling happened but the service was nothing to write home about either.
Now with that out of the way...here's the good stuff! My schnitzel was delicious! I lived in Europe for 3 years and then in Tampa where I had my favorite restaurant, Mr. Dunderbak's, and while I'm definitely not a schnitzel connoisseur, I do know a thing or two about good schnitzel, and that was good schnitzel. I think it could be a great schnitzel though by trying a smoked Gouda béchamel sauce rather than just the melted Gouda. My husband's hamburger was also very tasty and he devoured it. So no complaints there.
I thought I would have to drive to Huntsville or possibly back to Tampa again to have some good schnitzel, so I'm pleasantly surprised to find some just a couple of blocks from home. All in all it was a good experience and we will return.
Also, last bit I promise, Busy Bee Cafe, if you're reading this I would like to make a dessert suggestion. Knowing that you plate up some good German dishes, I would love to see Bienenstich (Bee Sting Cake) as a staple on the menu. Mostly because I love it and don't want to drive to Florida for it. But also because you're the Busy Bee Cafe!! It's the perfect staple dessert.
We always get the BBQ nachos made with fried potato chips when we watch bama play. They're scrumptious and you get a lot. roll tide!
Love this place awesome breakfast just like mom made it good atmosphere and you can't get better people to converse with !!!
Everything was made to order and served quickly and accurately. The only thing that was subpar to me and is the same problem i find with most diners is that they choose to use inferior cheese. A cheese upgrade or even an upcharge option for a cheese upgrade wiuld be well worth it and would raise reviews from good to great! Jus sayin'... cheese ... marvelous cheese...ixll totally pay extra for it..
A true Southern experience. The Busy Bee is one of the few places remaining where you can still this authentic Burger. The Busy Bee burger is a specialty with deep southern roots. Their breakfast lunch and dinner menu is sure to please.
