The owner actually was there greeting us as we walked in which I thought was very classy… The service was on point, and the food was phenomenal and priced right!! I highly recommend it!

The Yellowhammer is great! Don't get to eat there nearly enough! Food and service is like you would expect years ago when restaurants cared about their customers. It's not fancy...but a nice, clean "down home" kinda restaurant.

Treat yourself to a meal and people that make you feel like family....go to Yellowhammer!

Outstanding food every time we eat here. Service is great and the prices are really good. You have to try the onion rings, out of this world!!!

Our first time here and the kids and I️ loved it. The Rueben, the club, and fried fish were all great. And our waitress Tawni was so sweet and helpful!

It's a rare day when Mrs. Munday takes a weekday off as she did today. In such cases I like to take her to lunch at a place that she can't normally get to during the work week. Today's trip to Yellowhammer Cafe was extra special treat because it's only open weekdays from 6am to 2:30pm. We looked over the lunch menu of great-looking burgers and salads but opted for the Meat & Three selections. She chose a fried pork chop with fried okra, mashed potatoes, field peas and a yeast roll. I had the pot roast, sweet potato casserole, fried okra, rice & gravy and cornbread. Other meat and vegetable options were available. We don't usually do M&3 but food such as this might make us choose this style more often. Mrs. Munday enjoyed everything on her plate... commenting that the mashed potatoes were real but the peas could have been better. Everything on my plate was hot and prepared well. The fried okra was especially good. Add salt and Frank's Red Hot and we're good to go. Arriving just before 1pm allowed us to miss the lunch crowd... there was ample seating in the main dining area. From the greetings and conversations taking place with those coming and going, it appeared as if this was a regular stop for lots of folks who know each other. Lunch for two totaled under $20. If Mrs. Munday ever gets another weekday off, Yellowhammer Cafe will be at the top of our lunch list.

If your in the mood for a real home cooked meal then this is the place to go. I have always enjoyed the friendly service from the staff, the mouth watering food and the elegant owner who always greets you with a smile. Definitely a place that I enjoy eating at and recommend.

I love Yellow Hammer Cafe! The food is great, no matter what you choose, the selection and variety of fresh vegetables and meats are outstanding but the service is what really makes me smile! These ladies work hard to make sure you enjoy your food and time at Yellow Hammer Cafe. Please stop in for lunch, you are very likely to see me - I'm there 2-3 times a week!!

I had tried the food twice before today, and both the club sandwich and the burger were great. The onion rings stood out as amazing. Today I had the fried fish, black-eyed peas, and fried green tomatoes; all excellent and delicious! To really appreciate Yellowhammer Cafe though, I highly suggest a personal visit. The views inside are quite memorable, it is scented with blueberry, and the decor makes you feel right at home. I'll be back!

Had the best grits and biscuit yesterday following a fast for blood work and I will be back! I can still taste that biscuit and love that the grits needed no other seasoning! Now that's the way to cook southern grits!

Had lunch at the Yellowhammer yesterday. No relief at the cash register for our waitress had other waitresses delivering our food. There were four of us, and two didn't receive the bread they ordered with their meal. I needed a spoon (I don't eat grits with a fork) and made two trips up front to ask for a spoon and bread for my friends. Other than that, the food was excellent and the atmosphere made me feel like I was back in my grandmother's kitchen having lunch. I will visit again, and hope that the qwerks in the service and running the cash register get worked out.

Everything on the menu is fabulous and their staff are the nicest people you can find. Try the French Toast, you will not be disappointed nor will you be hungry afterwards.

Wheat French toast and bacon with decaf coffee for bfast. Brother had eggs, toast and grits with cheese, with coffee. The wait staff were friendly and quickly poured refills. Restrooms were clean, even had fancy soap to use. I'll be back next time for a lunch as the menu looked like country food we find enjoyable!

My husband and I were very pleased with our visit to the Yellowhammer Cafe and plan to go back soon. The hamburger steak, real mashed potatoes, field peas, and fried okra were delicious. The service was excellent, and everyone was very friendly. We arrived between 1 and 1:30 and had our food in no time. If you haven't tried them, you're missing a real treat!

I would like to start off by saying my first experience here was awesome! Awesome food, service, and atmosphere. Unfortunately today I decided to take two of my co-workers to lunch here, I have been telling them how good it was. We arrived at 12:15, we sat down, ordered our food, the proceeded to wait. One of my co-workers did order a burger however, she was told it would only take 10 min to cook. We only get 1 hour for lunch but didn't think we would have any issues eating here within our allotted time. After waiting for over 40 min. we had to leave without eating and without any food period. By this time our lunch break was over and we were forced to return to work without eating any lunch. I was embarrassed that I had recommended this place to my co-workers then had to bring them back to work with an empty stomach. I realize things happen and I am sure it was not intentional however, that doesn't excuse the situation. Hoping they are able to prepare better in the future and this doesn't happen to any more customers.

Went here for lunch today. We waited to be seated for about 5 min. Then, in came a couple and the waiter went to them first to seat them ....and we had been there waiting!!!!! So, then I say something and the waiter says, "well come on" or something like that. So, we get to the table and sit down and wait again.... No one come to gets our drinks for another 5 minutes. While serving the other couple drinks and getting their order. So we got up and left kinda sorry service if u ask me
