Everything at this little bakery is EXCELLENT, breads, cakes, pastries and especially the chocolate mousse cupcake, wow can't get any better. Rolls are the best and beats other local bakeries, hands down. Their Irish Soda Bread is superb and is the best from any local place.

If you want to find a nice Mom and Pop bakery with a delicious assortment of freshly made goods, and the best coffee in Kingston, New York? Try the Cake Box.

Currently, my favorite breakfast bread is the Asiago hard roll. Although it is a toss up some days between that and the rosemary focaccia.

The Cake Box building is a vintage Gulf Station, the sort built to emulate a "light house" on top, in an art deco style. Make certain that you check out the photos of the heyday of the full service station that Walter has hanging in the dining area.

The Cake Box is closed on Mondays.

Update: Year later, and still every bit as wonderful!

The Cake box is a wonderful little corner bakery! The staff is very friendly and they make the best cakes, pies and cookies. Their seasonal specials are a wonderful treat too ( I loved this weeks special, Irish Soda bread it's excellent!!)
